A/N: Hi so this is a one-shot that I just wanted to post because of something that happened at my school a while ago. I'm thinking about it a lot so maybe this will help me stop? Anyway, I'll say what happened at the end.

Disclaimer: If I were Veronica Roth, would I really be posting fanfiction for my own book? No. I would be writing Emergent (Convergent?) and not torturing my readers.

Tris's POV

Tori connects the wire to my forehead and I black out.

Standing in front of me is a dog. It snarls and leaps towards me. I remember from somewhere that looking a dog in the eye is a sign of aggression. If that's true, then what's a sign of submission?

I lie down on my stomach so that my face is level to the dog's. (Erudite.) I feel something warm and look up to see the dog licking my face.

"You're not such a vicious beast, huh?"

I stand up, but the dog is gone, and I'm standing next to another girl, who I know is my close friend. Which is strange, because I also know I've never had a close friend.

A door at the other end of the room opens, and a little girl, maybe seven, sprints in. She stands there a moment, shaking, before the door slams open again and a huge man runs in. I see something in his hand- some kind of button?

The man jams his finger over the button and points it at the girl, who screams and clasps her hands over her nose and eyes. Pepper spray.

I twist out of my friend's grasp. "No," she says. "Don't."

The man raises the pepper spray again. The girl screams again. "I have to," I say.

"Why?" she asks, grabbing my arm.

I pull it away. "To save the girl and hurt the man." (Abnegation and Dauntless.)

I sprint forward, coughing painfully, hands over my eyes.

Then everything disappears. I walk to the door and into the hallway, only it's not a hallway, it's a bus...

A/N: Weird? Alright, here's my story. (Using Divergent names that sound like actual names.)

My friend... uh... (Susan) and I were waiting for the teacher outside Math class. It was out of control, there were insanely violent boys sprinting everywhere, and the teacher still hadn't gotten there. (Susan) and I were sitting there minding our own business. (Susan) decided to get some water.

Twenty seconds later, everyone on the other side of the hallway started coughing like nuts and my throat started feeling really weird. (Susan) sprinted back just as I started coughing. Everyone was asking "Who sprayed it?" and I was totally lost. Other than the coughing. I got that part.

Anyway, (these are all people's "names" in my grade) it turned out (Max), a really immature boy (aren't they all) had found a can (would you call it a can?) of pepper spray somewhere. He was about to spray it when (Molly), who's a bitchy popular girl, grabbed it from him. With her hand over the button. By accident, but still. (Jack) got sprayed in the face, (he isn't blind now in case you're wondering, he was fine-ish) and almost puked. (Notice the -ish.) When the teacher came, he got the head of the sixth grade- embarrassing!- to come figure out what happened. The nurse was popping in and out, too.

Then again it was cool later when there were tons of rumors going around and I was one of the few people who could answer them... but still.

Wow, there's a lot of ()s in there. *Whistles* Anyway, there's my dramatic story that's probably longer than the fanfic! Fanfic, rant, vent for scary moments, whatever you want to call it.
