My Precious Friend

The words kept echoing in his head.

"He's my precious friend..."

His body still ached after his fight with Lee Tae Sung, but Jae Yeol couldn't care less. The night was young, and he had all the time in the world to sink deep into his thoughts. The young man was never quite the talker. As a matter of fact, he can't even remember the last time he's talked at all. Words just don't come easy for him, and any that he tries to think of end up feeling awkward or out of place. For while he's used to remaining quiet, but the aching thought of Hyung Suk too strong to be ignored.

Hyung Suk was special since he first laid his eyes on him.

Everyone in school loved him, though few loved him beyond his looks. Hyung Suk was kind and compassionate, traits that Jae Yeol had to admit were not in abundant supply in the superficial society they lived in. To Jae Yeol, Hyung Suk was his angel.

Jae Yeol thought that there wouldn't be a way for him to express what he feels for Hyung Suk, felt that even if he wanted to speak, the words would die on his tongue, but then Hyung Suk himself comes up with the solution.

"Thank you," Hyung Suk would always say, smiling sheepishly at Jae Yeol, who didn't do anything but nod, and while to other people he would have come off as something other than polite, both Jae Yeol Hyung Suk know that the one, simple nod means the means the world.

Then, there was the whole situation with Tae Sung and the two Hyung Suks. It was the first time he'd seen Hyung Suk cry like that after returning the five-thousand won bill that to him. Jae Yeol vividly recalled how he felt upon seeing those tears. The last thing he ever wanted was to see his beloved cry like that, especially after having to be rescued by him.

As his laid in his bed, Jae Yeol gritted his teeth. He wished he could've done more for both Hyung Suk and his little friend at that time. Had that bastard Tae Sung not pulled a dirty move, he might've overpowered him. Jae Yeol was confident he had the situation under control, the fat bastard's jujitsu was nothing compared to his Systema. If only he didn't hesitate and grab the bill sooner. Maybe, he could've knocked him out sooner so that Hyung Suk wouldn't have to be there and cry...

It was a shame, what happened has happened and Jae Yeol knew that it was impossible to turn back the clock. With that in mind, he silently vowed himself one goal: to never let Hyung Suk cry like that again. There won't be a second mistake next time on his part.

The words from before echoed again. Before he knew it, he was quietly mouthing it to himself.

"He's my precious friend..."

His one true friend.

(A/N: Just a short one-shot for the webtoon Lookism. Not very long, but it's hard to write about a guy who's not seen very often nor talks in the comic. I still love Hong Jae Yeol tho and I really do wish that he comes out with his feelings in a future chapter. Hope you all enjoyed the quick read 3. )
