Your Embrace

The first thing I saw as my eyes fluttered open was your smooth chest rising and falling in long, slow breaths. Each one drawing all the air from your lungs before you inhale again and it is then that I know you're asleep still. You always sleep a fraction more time than I do but its weird because I love it this way. Before, I'd feel odd and try to leave the room but now, I rest softly on your skin and trace lazy circles with my fingertips along your chest, remembering the previous night.

Its a whirl of pleasure, desire and lust and sometimes I think that there's even an unfamiliar emotion swelling inside us both. But sure enough at the end when you collapse with me and hold me there, I sigh and I know that you'll always be there for me. Its dark and scary in my dreams at home. I see everything from the past. Lisa, My dad, the cyber men... everyone I want to forget but can't. Now that I'm asleep with you, I don't dream, I simply settled into a contented sleep with memories of you filling my mind. The way you look, the way you taste, the way you smile and most of all your caress. I don't know what I would do without it. You're like a mind altering drug that's got me hooked but its not quite an addiction, not yet.

When you wake up, my breath halts and I'm waiting for you to say something.

"Ianto?" You whisper softly and stroke my hair softly, as if testing to see if I'm awake or not. I look up at your face and your smile never fails to dazzle me. I laugh softly and lean in to press my lips to yours. It is a soft and sweet kiss, nothing like we shared just hours ago, and when we break apart we are both smiling.

"Yes, Jack?" I finally say quietly in response.

"Coffee?"
