A/N: written as a birthday present for a friend, not my best work, but I hope you enjoy

Review please

The green hills of the Shire will always be my home, but since I met her my place in the world will be where ever she is.

Her eyes are as green as the forest, her skin as fair as the prettiest elf. Everyone in Hobbiton wants her but she looks at none of them in any other way but as friends, she tells me her secrets, her hopes, her dreams. She wants to leave the Shire, visit the mountains, the elves, the dwarves.

I tell her I'd go with her; all she has to do is ask. She says we'll go when we're of age, and I complain that 2 years is too long to wait, but for her I'll do anything.

Then one day she doesn't meet me by the stream, like she has done for the past year and a half. The first thought that comes into my head is that she's finally given up on me, that she has decided one of the other hobbits is better for her, and I get mad. I will make her mine, I decide, before one of the other hobbits do.

I walk to her house and knock on the door, I wait as patiently as I can before knocking again this time louder, "err…hello? Rosie, are you there?" I say, speaking loudly so even if she was in the furthest reaches of her home she would hear me.

I decide to walk round to her back door, to see if she was there or in the garden. I see her sitting on a bench in the garden, facing away from me, kneeling on the floor tending to the flowers.

"Rosie?" I say my voice not very loud so not to scare her. She looks around suddenly, "Oh Frodo, you scared me, what are you doing here?"

"I came to tell you something," I say kneeling down in front of her, "Oh, what?" she asks.

"This" I say as I leaned in and kissed her, her lips tasted sweet and the kiss didn't last long, yet I hoped it told her everything I felt for her.

When we pull away, I look into her eyes and utter the three most life changing words.

"I love you."

A/N: Finished! This is my first Lotr fanfic so don't me to harsh:)
