That's all that was going through my head as we were running down the corridors of Hogwarts castle, towards the grounds, where the main battle was happening. This was it. The Battle of Hogwarts.
For some strange reason, I wasn't scared. The reason? I had Draco there, beside me, protecting me. We were going into this together and we were going to come out of it together, no matter what.
We got to the doors. A sudden wave of sickness and fear suddenly rushed over me. Yeah, okay, I'm going to admit it now, even with Draco there,
I'm terrified.
" Draco, I'm scared. " I whimpered.
" Its okay, I'm here, I'm not going to let anything happen to you, just stick by me, you promise? " He replied.
" I promise."
He squeezed my hand slightly, I smiled up at him, he smiled back. I had this horrible lingering thought at the back of my mind. It kept repeating over and over again, as though trying to be noticed. It kept telling me I was going to die here. I smiled to myself. If I was going to die here I was going to die in battle and beside my true love. That's how I want to go.
With everyone else behind us, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Seamus and Dean we were ready to go. We all took one look back at Hogwarts.
We were fighting for Hogwarts. Our first 9 Death Eaters stood before us. Perfect, one for each of us. Our wands raised. We all took one deep, long breath and cried..
AVADA KEDAVRA!!
A flash of green light and they were gone. I'd done it. I'd killed one of the bastards. At that point we all ran off in different directions. My hand was snatched by Draco's and I ran with him. We ran and ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. I doubled over in pain from my stitch. I really needed to consider exercise. I felt faint and horrible. Draco noticed this and grabbed my waist and motioned me over to hide under a rock.
" Here, Hermione, under here, just until you feel better. " He said.
" N - n - n - no I - I - I - I'm fine. " I panted. At that point I fell to the hard, cold ground.
Everything was spinning. I didn't know where I was. I didn't know where Draco was. He just disappeared. Where was he? He wouldn't just leave me here like this! I panicked. I needed to find him. He might be in trouble. I placed my arms at my sides, put all my weight onto them and pushed up with the only strength I had left. I stood up and I thought I was in a horror movie. Everywhere was just flashes of green light, the sounds of spells and jinxes being cast and the terrified, pained screams of the dyeing. I knew at that moment that standed in the middle of a battlefield unarmed was a bad idea so I reached for my wand.
Where was it? It wasn't in my pocket as usual. Where was it?!
" Well well well, if it isn't little Miss Hermione Granger! " I heard a shrill, eerie voice come from behind me.
I turned around to face hell. I froze.
" You? " I said in disgusted awe.
" Yes, me. "
" But, w - what are you doing here? "
" HERMIONEEE! "
I snapped around. Looked in astonishment to see Draco running towards me. I opened my mouth to shout to him but I was cut off....
" Too say goodnight Hermione. " The voice almost sang.
" Too what? "
Too late. I heard a caertain spell being cast and I was plunged into darkness. My last sight was Draco's beautiful face reaching for me.
