Everything was covered blood. Everywhere he looked there was nothing but blood all around him. And he hated the sight of it. He hated that he had lost his control so much to create something like this. His swords had ripped through flesh without mercy and without hesitation, his arrows had pierced through any defense and left his target a stain of blood on the floor. After what he had seen, after what the monster he had slain had done, he had snapped and he freely admitted such a thing. Although he had not escaped from such a thing unharmed, one rarely does when dealing with an insane cult, especially one made up of Magus, highly skilled ones at that. His body was covered in both the blood of his victims and his own, numerous injuries spread across his body and most certainly fatal. Already, he could feel himself slipping away, losing himself to an approaching darkness, inescapable even for someone as distorted as himself.
"Well, well, well, look at you? Quite a mess you've made here, little Magus." The Magus looked up at the source of the voice and only saw a dark red coat wearing figure. He thought he spotted platinum blond hair but couldn't be sure, blood loss was making his vision hazy and already felt himself returning to the darkness, it was a struggle to focus on anything now, even a voice. "So tell me, do you want to live?"
"What?" the Magus was confused, how could this person even think of trying to save someone only moments away from death's almost inevitable embrace. "Wha.."
"I asked you a question, do you want to die here in the blood of this filth or do you want to live on, even if it isn't as a normal human?" blood red eyes locked with steel grey at the demand and slowly the Magus nodded, falling to his own desire, the desire to save everyone, no matter the cost to himself.
A vicious grin spread across the figure's face as they crouched own next to the Magus, dragging him next oher and from what the Magus felt his arm pulled against he could tell his savoir was female.
"Now," a grin, one he would have liked to avoid, was almost able to be heard in the woman's voice. ",don't scream, this will sting…a lot."
Without any more warning, the Magus felt his neck be bitten quite harshly by what he now knew to be a Vampire. Merely seconds after the bite, shadow like tendrils quickly spread across the Magus's body, the source of them being the Vampire at his side. As the shadows spread the Magus used all of his willpower to hold back his screams, his body racked with agony as his remaining blood was drained from his body. The pain seemed to last for days but truly was only a dozen or so seconds until the process was finished.
"You should pray to whatever you believe in that this works, this could be bad if you're not, particularly for you since I don't really like ghouls that much." His savior calmly wiped the remaining blood from her mouth with one hand before licking it off after a moment. "Delicious, you Magus always have a unique taste."
"What did you just do?" the Magus's voice was weak, his body feeling as if it was being stretched and twisted while being ripped apart and burned all at once, the sensation almost unbearable.
"I saved your life the only way I knew how, by turning you into a Vampire. I am Seras Victoria, you're new master." The now named Seras as she looked around at the carnage the Magus she had just turned into her Familiar had created in his blind rage, truly uncaring of the rather massive bombshell she just dropped on the man.
After a moment of admiring he carnage he had managed to create in his blind rage, Seras turned her eyes towards the Magus.
"Now can I get your name?" Seras crossed her arms over her rather ample chest, a bored look on her face as she waited for a response.
"Shirou Emiya." The white haired Magus barely managed to speak, the more time passed, the more he felt his body growing weak. Only moments after he had spoken he felt more than saw his eyes close.
His new Master nodded at the name as she looked out at the blood soaked street around her and simply leaned back against a slab of upturned concrete. Seras pulled him against her as she did so and the nearly unconscious Shirou felt his head rest against her shoulder. Unseen by him, a grin was on the Vampire's lips as she looked down at the Magus resting against her.
"Nice to meet you Shirou, welcome to Hellsing."
It had barely been a few minutes before Shirou felt himself slowly waking up, a short Structural Analysis of his body showed some rather extreme changes in him. Number one was obvious, the effects of Vamparism obvious to anyone with half a brain. The second change was harder to pinpoint, specifically exactly what kind of Vampire he was turned into. His time as an Enforcer had taught him the two types, the one that Magus hunt and those the organization known as Hellsing hunts.
"Don't bother trying to figure it out, no one knows what Alucard is and I am his Fledging. So boy, as of this moment, you no longer truly know what you are either." Seras's voice was harsh as she spoke and Shirou simply stopped his use of Structural Analysis of himself. He had quickly found Seras's words to be truer than he would like them to be as he knew very little about what exactly changed his body, he barely even knew what he was anymore so shortly after waking up.
"Then what do I do now, Master?" Shirou's question was met with a laugh from the Draculina, a cold harsh one, as she gestured around her. Shirou, almost immediately, felt his eyes drawn to the blood around him at her movement, the Magus suddenly feeling as if he had never drunken in his life as his eyes took in the scene in front of him.
"Drink, if you think you can." Seras turned away from Shirou as she spoke and very quickly shadows emerged from under her coat and seemed to swallow her, the Draculina disappearing when the shadows moved into the ground.
Shirou was hesitant to actually approach the blood around him. A part of himself that he buried deep long ago, the one that always wanted to be a Hero of Justice, didn't want to defile corpses just to drink their blood, to quench his new Vampiric instincts. The young former Enforcer and current Vampire wanted to listen to this side of himself but at the same time he couldn't hold back against the overwhelming thirst he suddenly felt. Shirou felt his teeth change into fangs and his eyes flashed from steel grey to blood red in a moment. The only thing that stopped him from taking his first drink was a flash of memory.
An exhausted Enforcer limped into his apartment, his body exhausted and he was almost certain his leg was broken by this point. He had only numbed the pain to continue fighting and now regretted doing so, a sharp spike of pain lancing through his body at every step he took now from such an action. The Holy Shroud of Martin, a gift from his teacher, slipped off his shoulders as his black chestplate followed and clattered to the ground on top of the shroud. The many bruises that were the results of fighting a group of Vampires made him wince as he worked his way over to a chair.
Finally having time to actually look over his injuries, he wished he still had access to Avalon: Ever Distant Utopia, one of the Noble Phantasms of his former Servant Saber. If he had the Noble Phantasm he would already be healed and be able to move without blinding pain. It didn't help that he could Project the weapon either but it was still inert despite everything he had tried to activate it once again.
"So Shirou, I figure you forgot about tonight?" at the unknown voice in his apartment, the Enforcer was ready to Project his favored pair of swords only to calm himself down. His exhausted mind merely needed a few more seconds than usual to put a name to the voice.
"Rin, what are you doing here?" Shirou didn't bother rising from his seat, spotting Rin walking out of the apartment's small kitchen that was off to the side. "I thought you had to study tonight."
"I did, I just blew it off." Rin pulled up a chair alongside his own and Shirou felt the glare she directed at him as she looked over his many injuries. "Now, what have you've done to yourself tonight?"
"Do we have to do this tonight Rin?" Shirou's question was ignored as the Tohsaka Head drew out a familiar jewel from her pocket, sparking a curious look from the Projection specialist as he saw the aged jewel, his eyes already telling him everything he wanted to know about such an item, something very personal between the two of them. "You really still keep that old jewel?"
Shirou recognized the pendant Rin pulled out as the same pendant that she had used to save his life when the Fifth Holy Grail War's Lancer had pierced his heart with his spear. He had kept a hold of the jewel for a short time before giving it back to Rin for her studies in the Clocktower.
"So, I'll ask again, what have you've done to yourself this time, Shirou?" Rin repeated her earlier question as she ran Prana through the pendant in her hand, the special properties of it activating before she slipped if on over Shirou's head. Her hands brushed over his spiky pure white hair and she was sharply reminded of her Archer from the Fifth Holy Grail War, the man who would be Shirou's future if she didn't stop him.
"The Enforcers received reports of a cornered a group of Vampires, recorded as four at best. With the low number and with the situation seemingly contained on the island it was on, they sent me and four others. I would handle the Vampires while the other four Enforcers dealt with any of the Ghouls the Vampires would have created as well as search for the research they stole from several Magus. Turns out we had some very bad information."
"How bad was it?" Rin seemed to want to keep him talking, the Prana filled jewel leaking energy into Shirou's body and was slowly healing him the longer it was on, something he would take off if he thought charging the jewel with Prana was a burden for Rin.
"Very, it turned out these were a special breed of Vampires. They made a few hundred Ghouls each, not the hundred we thought surrounded the area. My team was massacred once they ran out of weapons and I had to call in for nearby Church Executors or I would have died. As it was, I barely escaped the fight like this, I was close to losing my arm actually. I was ordered back for a report and let the Executors handle the rest of the Ghouls and Vampires. Turns out our information was wrong again with the number of Vampires as well. An entire horde of them were hidden underground and slaughtered the Executors once they moved into the ambush."
"So, how did you come out relatively unharmed when everyone else died?"
"I was lucky."
"Is that it? Luck saved your life?"
"Yes."
"This won't make you stop either, right?"
"…Maybe you should leave, we can meet up tomorrow if you want to."
"When isn't there going to be a tomorrow Emiya?"
"What are you talking about, Rin? There's always a tomorrow, I just won't be a part of it."
"Do you even hear yourself sometimes? You act as if your life doesn't matter."
"Because it doesn't, if I can't save people than my life is meaningless, Rin. I can't let others die when I'm alive when I should be in their place."
"So that's it? You've let yourself be blinded by your ideals?"
"I'm not blinded Rin, I've lived my entire life like this. Now is no different, neither will tomorrow, until the day I die I will live like this."
"You damn fool."
"Call me what you want, I never asked you to fall in love with this fool."
"Of course, I let myself fall for you and because of that now I have to save you from yourself."
"I don't need saving Rin, I need to save people."
"What about when you can't? What happens then?"
"I'll tell you that when I have an answer myself."
"You're becoming him you know, abandoning everyone who decided to stick by you despite everything you do."
"You must need sleep Rin, I'm far from anything like Archer. I haven't let myself fall like he did, I'm just following my fate."
"Your fate is to become him you moron!"
"Ma…"
"Shut up and let my speak Emiya." Rin's voice was filled with anger now, something Shirou rarely saw despite their growing number of arguments recently and the surprise was enough to silence the Sword Magus. "Why can't you see that you're turning into him? If what you said is right, if you're just going to follow the route fate gave you, then it's only a matter of time before you send yourself into a living hell. I know Archer's life, I know what he did and why he did it and you're heading down the exact same path! Everything you do has been done by him, it's just drawing you closer and closer to Alaya!"
"You would normally be right but I have no intentions of letting something like that happen Rin, when the time comes for me to make the deal with Alaya I will refuse. I will save those people under my own power, if I allowed something like that to help me than my life is worthless."
"What is wrong with you Shirou? Why can't you see anything but your own ideals every time this happens? Are you that blinded by them?"
"No, Rin, you just don't understand them, no one can understand them but me and I'm living my life by them."
"So it's all just an obsession then? Everything you do is just to fuel it?"
"No, I'm tr…."
"You're just like him!"
"I am not like him!"
"You're right, you're worse."
It wasn't that long until Rin and him had a massive blow up and ended up at each other's throats. She had even had the nerve to call him nothing but a monster eventually, saying he was becoming worse than Archer. She was right, something he would never admit to her but she was right. He kept his goal close to heart but fell closer and closer to it being the single obsession in his life, willing to do anything to save people, even if that meant immense destruction to himself and others. But to him, it never mattered, as long as he could save at least someone he would do anything.
"You're right, you're worse."
Rin's words echoing in his mind helped the Magus stop himself from drinking the blood of the corpses around him, an image of the deadly Rider appearing in his eyes, her draining of the blood of people around the city before she stopped.
'I can't do this!' Shirou clutched at his head, fighting off the Vampiric urges after a moment's struggle.
'I..I need to get away now!' Shirou stumbled back, his back slamming into a pierce of scorched rubble, probably from one of his blades, before he collapsed onto the ground against it.
"I can't do this. I can't do this. I can't do this. I can't do this…" Shirou's body pitched forward, a growl rumbling in his throat as his already enhanced sense of smell caught the scent of Prana filled blood, the desire to drink almost all consuming. "I can't do this! I CAN'T DO THIS!"
Staggering as he scrambled to his feet, Shirou fled from the scene, putting his enhanced body to the test as he used his enhanced abilities to flee the scene. It was futile, he had caught the scent and now it wouldn't leave him. Nothing he did could help him escape the all-consuming desire suddenly engulfing him. Every part of him seemed to scream in desire, the scent of the blood filling his lungs, clouding his thoughts.
"ARGHHHHH!" Shirou had done the only thing he could do to stop the desire, he had used the pain of stabbing through his hand with a blade to bring some rationality back to his mind. Panting in exhaustion at the effort it took to bring himself back, Shirou collapsed onto the roof he had somehow reaches in his desperate dash.
He wasn't proud of himself at the moment, having almost fallen into his suddenly acquired instincts. He struggled to keep control of himself even now, the pain still fresh in his mind but the desire for blood already returning with a vengeance.
He was lucky when he spotted Seras on a rooftop in front of him, seemingly waiting for him and wearing an infuriating smirk on her face as she waited for her Fledging. The moment she saw his distraught expression she merely laughed at him. Shirou was unmindful of her smirk, instead rushing over to her, hoping for any answers, anything to help with the sudden urges he faced. His obvious distress when he arrived in front of her only made her laugh harder, enjoying the panicked look on the recently turned Vampire.
"So, you didn't drink anything, did you?" Seras's voice held a mocking tone to it but Shirou had learned to ignore such a thing and simply nodded.
"I…I need your help!" Shirou collapsed to his knees, one hand clawing at his head in a vain attempt to dig out the urges while the other kept his body off of the ground. "I can't do this."
"Really?" Seras's laughter had stopped when Shirou had collapsed and her smirk had transformed into a frown when she heard his plea for help. "Are you really that weak?"
Her words got the desired actions from Shirou, his head shooting up to look at her, steel grey eyes flashing into a bloody crimson. She was impressed at the power he was suddenly excluding, no doubt thanks to his status as a Magus, for someone recently transformed. Through, to her disappointment, the silver bled away, being replaced by steel grey once again. As for the Magus, he stumbled back, falling onto his back at the sudden rage that overcame here at Seras's words. He was no stranger to insults, dealing with it for most of his life but this was the first time in a long time that he had ever reacted like that.
'What the hell did I do to myself?' Shirou slowly sat up, Seras suddenly shrugging as she lazily locked eyes with him.
"No shame I suppose, I waited some time before I took my first drink of blood. It was invigorating to say the least." Seras rose to her feet and her large gun was quickly reassembled, Shirou hardly noticing it was taken apart at her feet, and swung onto her back." Now, we need to head back to headquarters so I can report on what happened. Come along Sword Boy."
"Wait, what did you just call me?" Shirou nearly screamed his question at the now laughing Draculina as she began walking.
"Sword Boy." Seras vanished in a mass of shadows as she spoke and appeared a few rooftops away. Shirou quickly reached her only for the Vampire to teleport again and a short chase began." You've got to be faster than that Sword Boy. Pick up the pace and maybe you'll catch me."
"Stop teleporting!" Shirou quickly projected his bow and a sword appeared in his hand that swiftly shifted into an arrow." This will hit you before you do it again!"
Seras only laughed at Shirou's threat and shadows once again moved around her but simply circled around her feet instead of covering her again. This action only made to make Shirou's eye twitch in annoyance as he quickly moved faster than she could teleport and tackled her to the ground.
"Got you!"
"Did you?" Seras straddled Shirou's stomach and leaned forward, Shirou very quickly growing far too aware of the fangs that replaced her teeth." I can bite you now and really drain you, make you nothing more than a Ghoul if I felt like it. You'll be absolutely nothing but a mindless servant if I wished it."
"Now, there's no need for something like this, let's just talk about this, please?" Shirou's plea was met with laughter from Seras before he found his back against something cool. A short glance around him revealed why as the two Vampires now found themselves in the entrance hall of a manor.
"Welcome Sword Boy to Hellsing Manor, home to the Hellsing Family and headquarters to the Hellsing Organization. Any questions?" Seras had an amused smirk on her face as Shirou very quickly realized the large number of rifles pointed at him as the sound of boots thundering down the halls resounded around him.
'She wants to kill me, she brought us to a Vampire hunting headquarters!' Shirou was hastily on his feet and quickly visualized his trigger, the hammer of a gun being pulled back, and let his Magic Circuits open.
"Aaarrrrggghhh!" Shirou dropped to his knees at the burning pain ripping through his body and to the Magus turned Vampire it felt as it his body was burning itself from the inside out.
"Ah, I wondered what the change would cause with your magic mixing together with the raw power." Seras crouched down next to Shirou and simply laying a hand on his chest made Shirou's convulsing body still as his eyes, once clenched in pain, opened in startled surprise.
"What was that?" Shirou turned to the Draculina above him as he slowly sat up and with a wave of her hand, Seras called off the many armed soldiers around them once she realized Shirou wasn't about to attack them.
"That was why you should ask me before doing something like that. It'll take a few days to actually be able to use those Circuits of yours again without this happening; your body still needs to get used to the new energy flowing through it so until then, without the two sources in synch, you'll kill yourself like that. As for the soldiers, they work for Hellsing and by extension for me."
"What!"
Several hours and a few explanations more later, Shirou rested in the medium sized room that Seras lead him to from the parlor. The Magus was mainly thinking over what had happened to him and mainly his new 'condition' once Seras explained it. That was all after he was introduced to Hellsing and what they did while having to meet the leader of the organization as well, a truly terrifying woman who seemed to command your loyalty without speaking a word. The Magus could very easily guess that she could even have the Queen of the Clocktower bow to her if she wanted to.
It took a few minutes to meet the woman and even less to be sent away by her, one Integra Hellsing, Head of the Hellsing Family and leader of the Hellsing Organization, was a very scary and commanding woman when she wanted to be. Shirou concluded, after a long time to think, that Integra was a powerful Vampire in disguise that far outstripped Seras in terms of power. Speaking of his master, she was as close to sadistic one could get without making it obvious to others, making her a terrifying woman to be around when she entered a blood craze.
It also didn't help that his new Master seemed to love to annoy him by giving him nicknames or just making him as uncomfortable as she could. Overall, Shirou figured he had entered into an insane new world he really didn't want to be a part of but one he was dragged into none the less.
That said, he couldn't even begin to really understand what he had just gotten himself into when he allowed Seras to bite him and change him into a Vampire.
Oh if only he knew, he would have allowed himself to bleed out then and there.
AN: Well, how was it? Good? Bad?
Peace.
