Reclaiming Sanity

A young man of about eighteen years of age stood before the demon clad azure armor. The man was dressed in a garb strange to this land. He wore clothing the color of summer leaves and bore a sword and shield. He brushed his blonde hair aside and readied his weapons. The demonic knight pulled of his helm to reveal a very human face.
'This must be the one they call Nightmare,' thought the young man.
The knight slowly removed the plate armor covering his torso. He appeared to be human, save the demonic arm.
"Your search is over Link," said the knight, "I AM Nightmare."
A sword stood jutting straight up from the ground. An evil aura emanated from the sword, almost overwhelming Link. Nightmare reached for the hilt and pulled it from the cathedral floor as the wind blew through his shoulder length, blonde hair. As the blade slid through the ground, an eye opened as if the sword had come to life. The evil grew stronger as the wind blew harder and harder, nearly knocking the boy on his back.
"First I shall kill you," stated Nightmare, "And then I will complete the Soul Edge!"
Nightmare rushed towards Link, pulling his blade in an upward slash. Link flipped backwards just in time, but slipped on the edge of the deteriorating cathedral floor. Link cried out in terror as Nightmare scraped his sword across the ground. Sparks stung at the boy's hands as he hung from the ledge. Thinking rather quickly, Link reached into his belt pouch and pulled out a handful of a red powder. He tossed the powder at the sparks and it ignited causing an explosion. Link fell into the dark abyss below.
"You can't run from me for too long!" shouted Nightmare.
Link landed in the darkness and lay on his back for several minutes.
'He's right,' thought Link, ' I need to figure out how to beat him. He has to have a weakness.'
Nightmare walked down the broken stairs into the darkness, A light in the distance flashed and he crept towards it, sword raised above his head.
'Dammit!' Link shouted in his head as he tossed some powder into the air, 'Where the hell is he?'
Nightmare lunged at Link, stabbing at his chest. Link rolled to the side and readied his bow and arrow.
"Silver arrows won't help you here boy!" boomed Nightmare.
'Well,' thought Link, 'I hope you're wrong.'
The arrow flew at him in a flash of light and struck the knight square in the chest.
"Ha! Is that all? You'll have to try harder than that b-," goaded Nightmare before he felt a sharp pain, "A shard of the Soul Edge!"
Nightmare stormed off into the shadows of the Ohstrenburg Cathedral, his footsteps echoing through the fog that had rolled in with the morning sun.
'Damn!' Link thought, ' I can't let him get that shard!'
