Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Percy's Promise" from Season 3. Enjoy and comment.

Summertimes on the Island of Sodor are often very busy.

People like to go sightseeing, and some people like to visit the mountains, others visit places like the valley.

The children especially like the seaside best of all,

One morning, Thomas was puffing across the line that ran by the coast.

His two coaches, Annie and Clarabel, were full of children going to the beach.

Everyone was happy.

Percy was taking some freight cars to the harbor, when Thomas puffed up.

"I wish I could take children today instead of freight cars."

"Those are the Vicar's Sunday School children." explained Thomas. "I'm going to be busy this evening, but the stationmaster asked if you could take the children home."

"Of course I will!" promised Percy.

Later, Percy saw Harold.

"Can't talk now Percy. I'm on high-alert."

"Why?" asked Percy.

"Bad weather is coming. Help is always needed in bad weather."

"Even with the bad weather, I can go anywhere, anytime!" said Percy.

Then, Percy saw Edward.

"Be careful Percy!" warned Edward, "There's a storm coming!"

"I'm not letting go my promise!" said Percy. "Storm or no storm!"

The children had a lovely day, but by teatime, dark clouds covered the sky.

Annie and Clarabel were glad when Percy arrived.

Just then, it began to rain.

Percy thought about his nice dry shed, but still wanted to keep on his promise.

Percy kept on all throughout the coastal villages and the countryside.

The river was rising fast.

"I wish I could see, I wish I could see!" complained Percy.

Then, there was trouble. The tracks were covered by flood-water.

Soon, his fire went out.

"Oh no!" cried Percy.

Percy's driver and fireman went to look for more firewood.

"Can we have some firewood?" asked the fireman to the conductor.

"I only swept the floor this morning!" grumbled the conductor.

However, he agreed to help.

Soon, Percy's fire was burning well.

He felt warm and comfortable.

Then, he saw Harold.

"Oh dear!" thought Percy. "Harold's come to laugh at me!"

Then, something fell onto Percy's funnel.

"Ow!" exclaimed Percy.

"It's only a parachute!" laughed his driver. "Harold has brought hot drinks for us!

"Thanks for helping!" whistled Percy.

"Glad to be of service!" replied Harold as he buzzed away.

Soon, the water lowered, and Percy set off once more.

Percy was losing stream again, but he plunged bravely on.

"I promise, I promise!" he said to himself.

At last, exhausted but triumphant, he made it!

"Well done Percy!" said Thomas. "You kept your promise, despite everything!"

Sir Topham Hatt arrived with Harold.

First, he thanked the driver and fireman, and then Percy.

"Harold told me you were a wizard! He said he can beat you at some things, but not a submarine! Anyways, you are a really useful engine!"

"Oh, thank you sir!" exclaimed Percy happily.
