I rushed down the street, looking back at the creature I was fleeing from. It was gaining on me. I made a quick dash through an abandoned construction site, hoping to loose it in the ruins that were almost engulfing me, wanting me to be caught by this creature. Unfortunately, my attempt failed and the animal was still rushing for me, this time faster than ever. I skidded to a halt and faced the beast. Its eyes glared at me, with hatred filling every inch of its being. I took a deep breath and looked at it. Its mouth was foaming and pouring out. Its large massive body took up almost half of the street. It had pointed ears and large looming feet. I crouched down and threw a rock at it, then took off. I bolted toward my dad's factory, not bothering to look behind me. Suddenly, pain took over me, and I collapsed. My side throbbed and I felt nauseous. The creature approached me and shadowed over me.

I cried for help, but it came as a croak, inaudible for all. The creature then heard a noise from behind, and rushed away. I turned around to see what had scared the beast away, but saw nothing. It regained my strength and stood up. I walked toward the bushes where I thought the noise came from, but again saw nothing. "Are you the one?" a voice rung from behind me.

I turned around and saw a tall man standing a few yards away from me. "Am I the one?" I asked puzzled. "Are you the boy who let it go?" he asked me. I replied confusingly, "Do I know you?" I asked. "No, but you do know my creation. The creature that was chasing you," he said stepping forward. A sudden thought rushed through my head.

This man is the owner of the creature that was chasing me! But who is he, and why does he have a monster living with him, but more importantly, why was his creature chasing me?

"So, you created the beast?" I asked. He nodded and put his hand on my shoulder. It was a spine-tingling feeling, to have this stranger's hand on me after his creation tried to eat me. "Why was your creature chasing me?" I asked. "Only you can answer that . . . . ." he said. He then walked away into the foggy distance and vanished.

Stay tuned for Chap. 2!!!!!
