Hey y'all I just got done watching POA and I had a question. When Lupin and Harry are talking in the classroom, after Snape discovered Harry, and Lupin calls it a map when he wasn't supposed to know what it was, why didn't Harry call him out on knowing what it was when he wasn't supposed to? Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. I hope you like this one-shot, it is basically Harry calling Lupin out on knowing that the Marauder's Map was a map. I must apologize for any spelling and grammitcal errors.

Disclaimer: I don't own HP

Harry follows Professor Lupin into his classroom from after his run-in with Snape. Lupin clutches the map in his hand contemplating his next move. When the door is shut Lupin turns to the boy and looks at him for a moment.

(I must apologize for I don't remember the entire conversation though I will try and write most of it.)

"I know that your father had a knack for not following the rules. Your parents sacrificed their lives for yours and this is a fine way to repay them by walking around the castle, unguarded in these dangerous times. If this map were to fall into the wrong hands it could be dangerous. I am done covering for you Harry. Now I want you to return to your dormitry immediately and don't take any detours because I will know."

Harry turned to go before realizing something, he turned back around and faced his professor with a questioning look on his face.

"Hang on professor, I never said it was a map."

Lupin turned to look at him in confusion.

"What Harry?"

"Earlier when you were talking you called it a map. I never said it was a map though."

Lupin realized his mistake and feigned confusion again.

"I don't know, it was a lucky guess."

"No it wasn't professor. You specifically knew it was a map. The only way you would know it was a map was if you had seen it before, which is impossible."

Lupin sighed and sat down at one of the desks before motioning for Harry to join him. Harry sat down weary about what Lupin would say. Lupin looked at him and then looked back down at the desk and piece of parchment. He looked back up at the boy that was his best friend's son and gave another sigh before speaking.

"Alright Harry, I did know that this was a map. I mainly know that because I helped create it."

"What?"

"I helped create this map. I am Moony."

"You are, who are the others?"

"Why Harry your father was Prongs."

"Really?"

"Yes he was."

"Who were the other two Wormtail and Padfoot?"

"Now that is where it gets a bit complicated Harry."

"Tell me, I want to know."

"Padfoot is Sirius Black and Wormtail was Peter Pettigrew."

"Black is Padfoot!"

"Yes, yes he is."

"Wait the map must be wrong because it said Pettigrew was here in the castle. That was why I was out of bed."

"Huh? You said that Peter Pettigrew is in the castle?"

"Yes sir. Here I'll show you."

He grabbed the map from his professor and pointed his wand at it.

"I solemly swear that I am up to no good."

It opened up and he looked at it, finding the name he was looking for and pointing it out to his professor.

"See here, it says he is on the fifth floor."

Lupin looked at the map and saw the dot with the name Peter Pettigrew. He gasped as he stood up and walked into his office. He returned a few minutes later with Professor Dumbledore behind him. They walked over to the map and looked at it. Dumbledore looked up at the boy and asked a question about something that was plaguing him.

"Harry how did you get this map?"

"I can't say professor."

"Why not?"

"I just can't."

"Alright Harry, now if you two will excuse me I need to go and capture someone."

As Dumbledore was leaving, taking the map with him, he stopped to listen to what Lupin had to say.

"Headmaster, he is an animangus."

"Thank you Remus."

Dumbledore continued out of the room and left the two alone. Remus Lupin turned to Harry to see him looking at him curiously. He gestured for the boy to follow him started to walk out of the room. Harry quickly stood up and followed his professor.

"I'll walk you back to your common room Harry."

"Thank you professor."

The walk up to the Gryffindor common room was silent as they walked. When they reached the portrait and Harry gave the password to the Fat Lady, they turned to each other and gave a nod. Harry moved to enter the common room and stopped when Lupin said his name.

"Harry, if you want I can tell you about your parents. We can meet up in my classroom one day or so a week after dinner. I will tell you all you want about them, well atleast all that I know about them."

"Thank you professor, I apprieciate it."

"No problem Harry, now I request that you don't leave your common room for the rest of the night. Understand?"

"Yes sir."

Harry entered his common room and walked up the stairs into his dorm, and prepared for bed. He laid down and was instantly asleep. That night he dreamt of a happy life with his parents and his friends.

Hey y'all I hope you liked this one-shot. It didn't go as I planned for it to but oh well. Don't forget to review and tell me what you think please!
