I had so much inspiration for this and a clear idea when I said I would do it, but then now I completely forgot what it was I wanted to write… ugh.
But who doesn't like a bit of Fremione? and I have to kickstart my muse at some point ;)
Written for the Trick or Treat thread on the Golden Snitch forum (Please go check it out(link on my profile). It's me and two other awesome gals running it. You can sign up for any school that JK has mentioned so far on Pottermore. We took some liberties with the schools that don't have houses yet.)
Prompts:
Fred/Hermione
(dialogue) "We need to leave!" / "The Burrow?" / "No. We need to leave Britain."
(AU) Everyone lives...including Fred
(I took the AU very far, or quite literal. In this story, no one has died since Harry Potter first got visited by the tall giant in a tiny house out on an island.)
Hermione had just sat down in the comfy armchair by the fire. She should have known not to get comfortable, after all, she was dating Fred Weasley.
Yet, after six months of dating, she still got swept away into every crazy thing that happened to the two-eared twin.
"Hermione!" Fred yelled as he ran into the room and crashed into her chair. The tea she had just prepared spilled all over the blanket she had cuddled under (she could get really cold at times, Fred thought it was adorable, while Hermione found it annoying).
Vanishing the spilled liquid with a quick spell, Hermione sighed and said, "What?"
"We need to leave!"
"The Burrow?"
"No. We need to leave Britain."
"Fred Weasley, what did you do?"
"Sirius started it!"
"You're a grown man! You should know better than to get dragged into something that involves Sirius Black."
Fred avoided looking into her eyes. "Sirius is older."
"Not mentally."
Fred put an arm to his chest and mock gasped at that, "Hermione! I am appalled by your accusation! I am much younger mentally than Sirius Black."
"Yes, I guess that is true." A smile spread on her face when she saw that Fred was about to protest again. "Why did we have to leave Britain?"
Since Fred had opened his mouth to speak and then gotten interrupted by Hermione, a strange sound came instead of words at first.
"Because I might have broken Bellatrix Lestrange out of prison."
"FRED!"
"Sirius broke out Peter so he could get the chance to catch him again. He said something about playing a game of 'rat and dog' which I found strange. I thought the muggle saying was cat and mouse?"
It might be easy to distract Fred from some of the things she didn't want to talk about, but his short attention span also meant it was hard to get him to focus on important things at times.
"Fred, focus. Why did you break out Bellatrix? and what were you planning on doing once she was out?"
"I wanted to take revenge on her for what she carved into your arm. I couldn't let her get away with hurting the woman I love," Fred said and blushed.
"I don't need your protection, you silly man, she was locked up in prison!" She hit Fred with the book she had been planning to read before, but was now prevented from reading because they had to 'leave the country'.
"Ah!" Fred exclaimed as he used his arms to try and protect himself from the sudden assault. "This was not how I expected it to go when I said I love you for the first time."
Hermione stopped what she was doing, frozen with her arms holding the book over her head. "You love me?"
"Of course, I do."
"Then don't make me leave the country!" Hermione said and whacked him once more for good measure.
