Hey everybody, this is HOD. So this story might need some explanation for being so out of the blue. See, I was watching Stars Wars Episode 2 a few weeks ago and it made me want to watch Star Wars; The Clone Wars again and looked at FanFiction. I loved MusicKeeper's stories about Kira a lot so I asked her if she would like to do a colab with me. Needless to say, Amy and I hit it off pretty quick and in a few days we came up with this pretty little gem. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Chapter 1 of Blue and Gold Destiny.
"Chiyon, why are you still asleep? We're going to be late to see the Chairman!" called Chiyon's mother from the other room.
With a groan, Chiyon stretched and rolled out of bed. Today was the day he was to be presented to Chairman Chi Cho of the Pantoran Assembly - and the nine-year-old was not looking forward to the meeting. From the stories he'd heard, Chairman Cho treated the citizens of Pantora like dirt. 'Why do my parents work for him again?' Chiyon asked himself.
"Chiyon, hurry up"
"Coming, Mother" Chiyon blinked to clear the sleep from his eyes and made his way into the refresher to fix himself up. He took a quick shower and donned his fancy blue dress robe.
In truth, he'd rather wear a loose tunic and pants. But no less than the best would do for the Chairman of Pantora.
When Chiyon looked in the mirror to comb his light purple hair, the trademark blue skin and golden eyes of his species looked back at him. He sighed as he adjusted his robe so he wouldn't trip over it. His eyes glanced through the refresher door at his bed. Surely it wouldn't hurt to get a few more minutes of sleep, would it?
"Chiyon, NOW"
Well, that answered that. Resigning himself to the fact that he had to meet the Chairman this day, Chiyon walked out of his room, muttering to himself. "Yeah, yeah. But why me? I hate the guy."
Chiyon's mother heard, however. "You'd do well to hold your tongue, young man," she snapped. "You know that now that your are nine, you must prove loyalty to Pantora and the Chairman for your father and I to keep our jobs in the Assembly."
"But I AM loyal. I love Pantora! I just don't see why I have to prove to that harsh poodoo of a man that I do."
"Watch your language Chiyon, you'll get yourself in trouble."
Before Mother could berate Chiyon further, a knock sounded at the door. She opened it to admit Chiyon's much older cousin Riyo, who, despite her position as Pantoran Senator in the Galactic Senate, always found time to play with Chiyon or tell him a story.
"Hi, Riyo," Chiyon greeted his cousin. "Are you coming with us to see the Chairman?" He hopped she was; she would make the meeting much more fun. Perhaps she'd even tell him a story on the way. At the moment he was in the mood for one of the myths about the Pantoran gods that lived in the sky.
"Hello, Chiyon," Riyo replied with a soft smile, bending down to ruffle Chiyon's hair. "I was just on my way to see the Chairman before I leave to go back to Coruscant. I couldn't resist stopping by to see my favorite cousin."
"I'm your only cousin." Chiyon grinned at Riyo before his mother lead them outside to the speeder.
Chiyon was in luck. On the way to ChiNaSo city, Riyo was more than happy to tell him a tale of the Pantoran gods. He stared up at her with wide eyes, marveling at her ability to change her voice for each role.
At last, the speeder reached the Assembly Building. For the base of an "elected tyrant", Chiyon thought the building was gorgeous. He wondered if his parents would permit him to ride the turbolift to the top of one of the soaring triple spires. Probably not. Well, maybe if Riyo went with him.
Suddenly, a feeling of being watched made the hairs on the back of Chiyon's neck stand up. He turned around to see an unfamiliar man with dark hair and neutral colored robes approached, and the silver cylinder at the man's hip didn't escape Chiyon's notice, either.
The man spoke to Rio after glancing at Chiyon. "Senator, where have you been? You know it is my responsibility to watch over you while you are here; it wouldn't do for a Separatist or a bounty hunter to snatch you up, now would it?"
"I'm sorry, Master Ronan. I was simply picking up my cousin," Riyo explained. "He's going to see the Chairman."
"I's that so?" The Jedi studied Chiyon intently with deep red eyes. Chiyon felt uneasy under the man's steady gaze.
"My apologies, Master Jedi," Mother said, her hand firmly gripping Chiyon's shoulder, "but we really should be going."
"Quite right." Master Ronan fell into step beside Riyo. "I'll be coming with you then."
"That really isn't necessary, Master Jedi," Mother protested
"Nevertheless, I will be accompanying you," Master Ronan replied in a tone that implied that the matter was not up for debate. Chiyon's mother let the matter go and turned to go inside the Assembly Building, holding Chiyon close to her.
Chairman Cho met the group inside. "Well you certainly took your time," he barked coldly, a sneer scrunching up his face.
Mother bowed. "My apologies, Chairman. We were held-"
"Never mind that now," the Chairman interrupted with a wave of his hand. "What's done is done. Now, you, he snapped, pointing to master Ronan. "Who are you and what are you and what are you doing here? You don't have clearance."
"I'm Master Draco Ronan of the Jedi Order," Master Ronan replied smoothly. "I'm Senator Chuchi's bodyguard."
The Chairman backed off so as not to anger the Jedi. He turned his attention to Chiyon instead. "You there, boy. What's your name?"
Chiyon tried to keep the fear out of his voice. "Chiyon, sir."
"And you are here to prove your loyalty to me and to Pantora as a whole?"
"Yes, sir. I just don't see why I have to prove it to you, sir. I love Pantora with my whole heart, sir."
"Insolent boy" the Chairman snapped, hand raised as if to slap Chiyon, who flinched at the motion. Just before Chairman Cho's hand hit Chiyon's face, Master Ronan stuck his hand out. As if by magic, Chairman Cho's arm lowered to his side and went limp.
"I think it's time to go. Senator, if you would come with me," Master Ronan commented, grabbing Chiyon's wrist and leading him away from the Chairman. Riyo folled, eyes flashing with anger at the Chairman.
Chiyon's mother ran after them. "Where are you taking him?" she cried hysterically. "He's my only son! Come back, you fool!"
Master Ronan paid no attention to Chiyon's mother, who continued to spew insults and threats at the Jedi. Riyo looked over her shoulder but said nothing. Chiyo thought about tearing himself away from Master Ronan but was too curious to see what the Jedi was doing. Besides, as long as cousin Riyo was there, he'd be just fine.
The three reached the landing bay, where a Pantoran ship was parked. Master Ronan led Chiyon and Riyo inside to he passenger area. He signaled the pilot to take off, then he turned to Chiyon. "Kid, have you ever heard of the Force?"
Chiyon nodded. He didn't know that much about it, but he knew the Jedi used it to perform their heroic deeds of derring-do.
"Yeah?" Master Ronan knelt in front of Chiyon and removed a small medical kit and some strange looking device from his belt. "I believe it's strong with you, Chiyon, was it? So I'm going to need to take a blood test to make certain. Is that alright?"
"Yes, sir." Chiyon's head was spinning. Was Master Ronan implying that he, Chiyon Chuchi, could become a Jedi?"
"You think he could become a Jedi?" Riyo asked as Master Ronan pricked the inside of Chiyon's elbow with a small needle.
"I do." Master Ronan plugged the tube holding Chiyon's blood sample in the device. The device beeped, and Master Ronan glanced down at it. A small smile appeared on his face. "Kid, how would you like to train to become a Jedi?"
Chiyon was too excited about this prospect to speak, but the massive grin on his face was all the answer that Master Rowan needed.
A/N;
Chris: Phew, done. That took longer then expected
Chiyon: Is Master Rowan right? Could I be a Jedi?
Chris: Shhh, all will be revealed in due time. Once again I want to thank Amy for all the help.
Amy: Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this! Don't forget to review if you liked it, hated it, or wanted to light it up and watch it burn. :) And remember;
All: May the Force be with you always!
