I'll let you figure everything else out yourself. Hehehe…

Professor Oak sighed, looking at the picture from the end of the Battle Frontier saga. There were three new pokedex holders since then, but truthfully, he had his doubts about them. At one point, he'd even heard that the wrong people had gotten the pokedexes. He really should have-

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGG!

The phone rang. The professor lifted it out of the receiver and answered it. A few seconds later a look of shock crossed his face…

Meanwhile, Red was enjoying a rare battle with Green at Viridian Gym. Yellow had stopped by, and was now sitting in the spectator's bleachers with Chuchu.

Bwam! Green's Machamp slammed intoRed's Gyara, who shook for a minute and fainted. Red recalled Gyara, and-

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGG! His phone rang.

A bit surprised, he went to get it out of his bag. Not that many people had his number, and two of them were with him at the moment.

"Hurry up and answer your phone, Red." said Green, a little irritated at the delay.

And then his phone rang.

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGG!

Green whipped his out of nowhere and promptly answered it. Of course, by then Yellow's had rung too, and they all got a message from professor Oak saying to meet him at his lab.

Being who they were, all three pokedex holders left the gym and took off on their flying pokemon…

--ten minutes later—

Red, Green, and Yellow arrived first at the lab, but the seven other dex owners from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn soon showed up.

The professor quickly got to the point:

" The battle frontier brains have come down with a nasty variation of the flu, and it's likely they'll be out for several days. Mr. Scott has asked you, or at least seven of you to take their places for until they recover. It's your choice, but this sort of chance doesn't come every day."

*stunned silence*

--SUDDENLY, not to mention ALL AT ONCE--

Gold: Wait a minute! You're telling us that Scott guy wants us to, like, take the places of the frontier brains for a day?

Ruby: Not interested. There's a bit too great a focus on battling.

Red: I'm in.

Yellow: Guess I'll tag along, too. Can't promise I'll battle, though…

Blue: I'll see what I can do! *mischievous expression*

Sapphire: Of course. I know the facilities pretty well. Ruby, you should come too!

Ruby: No thanks. His pokemon:* simultaneously swish their heads no*

Sapphire: You trained them to do that?!?

Ruby: Actually, no. They came up with that on their own. I love it though. So graceful….

Sapphire: Euggg..

Crystal: I think I'll help, if I can.

Gold: *not to be left out* Weeeeell if all the pretty ladies are going…

Silver: Gold.

Gold: Of COURSE I'll go!

After a few more seconds of silence…

*Everyone turns and stares at Silver and Green*

Green (indifferently): Of course I'll go. It's a great opportunity.

Everybody: (phew, I that was surprisingly easy…)

*Everyone stares at Silver. Green thinks about doing it, too, but decides not too.*

Silver: Give me a break.

*Peer pressure*

Silver: Fine. I'm not promising anything.

Red: Hey, wait a minute. Where's Emerald? Wouldn't he be, like leaping for joy?

Prof Oak: He went to the bathroom.

Emerald: *Dashing back in* YES!!! I'm IN! *hops up and down, which isn't that far* I heard everything through the roof.

Prof. Oak: The roof?

Everyone else: *sweatdrop*

Prof. Oak: *letting roof subject go* there's still a lot to do, you know. You still haven't decided which facility each one of you is going to take, you know.

Red: We'll discuss that next chapter…

Author's second note: If you have any ideas as to who gets what facilities… please review and tell me!
