The Broken Miko and Her New Home

Kagome stood tall at the center of her companions. Inuyasha and Miroku to her right as Sango and Kirara stood to her left. They all glared the figure covered in miasma and poison bees. The mist was dark around him, hiding his features, but every one knew what he looked like. They knew the face and presence of evil. They need no face to go with him. He was their enemy, Naraku.

"I say we celebrate as soon as we get to the village." Kagome said, gripping her bow tighter as the words left her mouth.

No one said anything for a while, but Miroku spoke up and agreed, "I agree Kagome-sama."

Inuyasha nodded as he looked to Kagome. "You know I'll protect you."

"It's agreed then. We will celebrate when we return," said Sango.

"Yes, when we return home." Kagome said, gazing into Inuyasha's eyes.

"Home..." Inuyasha whispered softly, turning his gaze to Naraku.

The miasma spreaded quickly and the battle began. The battle would determine the future of not only the brave and currently fighting warriors, but others as well. A battle that expressed feelings that would either pave a marble road for the future or crumble it. A battle of good against evil. A battle so old it rages on even now.

"You will go home Kagome... alive." Inuyasha paused, "I promise."

"We will go home." It was no I, he, she, they. It was we. It was all of us.

The battle did not go as certain people planned. The loss was great as it came to an end the next morning. Nothing in the clearing would ever be the same. Nothing in the world would ever be the same. Bodies of humans, demons, and a hanyou covered the clearing with blood drying on their carcasses. Two forms stood in the clearing. One shattered, but only mentally while the other stood over there grinning insanely. Evil had won.

"Well, well, well..." Naraku's menacingly chuckled. "What do I have here my Little Miko?"

Naraku tipped Kagome's chin upwards since she seemed so interested in the ground she kneeled down on. He ran his fingers through her hair as he spoke of his victory and enjoyment he took in her companions death. Kagome didn't respond and Naraku smirked. How he dreamed of this day- This moment!

"I always knew you could be broken." He leaned down, his eyes staring into hers. "Now, you're my Broken Miko." His lips connected with hers.

Naraku broke the kiss and stood, pulling Kagome up by her hair. He pulled her close and buried his face in the crook of her neck. Inhaling her scent, he frowned angrily. It did not smell of his taint. He appeared disappointed as he pulled away and looked over her face. Releasing her hair, he backhanded her to the ground.

"We're going to have to change that scent of yours. Too much purity, don't you think?" He kneeled before her and wiped the blood away from her split lip. "Such wonderful tasting blood," he said licking the smeared blood off the corner of her lips.

Kagome had no tears in her eyes and that caused many thoughts to come rushing to Naraku. Many of the things he could do to torture her or release his anger if things went wrong with his world domination plan. Miasma formed under them like a cloud and Naraku took off to the sky with Kagome in his arms.

"Let us go home my Broken Miko. I do not want to take my soon-to-be mate on a bloodied battlefield, now do I?"

That when something unexpected happened, Kagome spoke. "Home?"

"Indeed. Your home for all eternity."

The End
