Dada…
"Bye Ron! Harry! Don't burn the house down!" Hermione called before closing the door to Her and Ron's small cottage beside the burrow. She and Ginny were going for a girl's day out.
"What do we do now?"
"Nap." Said Harry, walking over to the couch.
"I meant with the baby!" Ron scolded.
"Watch it. It's yours." Harry replied, falling fast asleep.
Ron rolled his eyes and walked over to the small toddler in the antique high-chair.
He crouched down to the baby's level, "Hello dearest. Are the Cereals good?"
The small, bright-red haired baby gurgled and threw a small 'o' shaped cereal at Ron's nose.
Ron made a face of mock-hurt. "Noo! Not the cereals! Anything but that!" he cried, picking up an 'o' and placing it on Anne's (the baby) head.
Anne giggled and clapped her hands above her head, reaching for the small weight.
Instead of pursuing the 'o', Anne spotted something much more pleasurable in Ron's waist-pocket.
The baby cheered and slipped out of the high chair, landing on all fours on the floor. She reached up and grabbed Ron's wand out of his pocket, making for a getaway.
Ron chuckled and watched as Anne crawled to the far corner of the living room. He got on all fours and followed.
"What a clever baby you are." He said, reaching her and sitting up against the wall beside her.
She smiled and handed Ron a small 'o'. Presumably the one from her head.
"why thank you, Anne, Daddy loves 'o's" He said, throwing it into his mouth.
Anne gurgled and climbed into her Father's lap.
Harry snored.
Anne looked up at Ron with wide eyes, and pointed at Harry, asleep on the couch.
Ron smiled gently, "Let's go wake him up, shall we?"
Anne yelped and fell down off Ron's legs onto all fours, and Ron followed suit.
But, instead of waking Harry, Anne plopped down in the middle of the room and pulled Ron's wand out of the hiding place in her nappie.
Ron smiled, "Yes yes, clever clever." And sat down beside her. " I can't wait until you can talk! You'll be the smartest baby alive!"
He gently pulled the wand out of her hand and levitated the small toy basket in the corner over to where they were sitting. Anne giggled and clapped her hands at the sight.
They played with the small matt toys for awhile until Anne sighed and crawled into Ron's lap.
She curled into a small ball and took a small section of Ron's loose shirt into her small hands.
"Aww, is wittle Annie tired?"
Anne nodded and murmured.
"What was that munchkin?"
"Dada."
Ron gasped, and finally felt what it was like to be on top of the world.
So…. Was it okay? I hope so!
