Forever: The Silver Codes

Chapter 1 – The Silver Door

This was Harry's last year of Hogwarts. He couldn't wait to start a new. The war was over, Voldemort was dead. Harry has been wondering down passage ways of Hogwarts for some time now. He isn't sure if he's lost, but still wonders around. He walked into a passage way that look unfamiliar and got lost. Something caught his eye, he looked over to see what it was. A Silver Door appeared out of nowhere. He has seen this door, but only in his dreams. He's been dreaming about this door for the past 4 months. The door hasn't been opened in his dreams and he was curious what was behind it. This time, he was determined to open this door and get it over with to see what this demon door has been lurking in his dreams.

His hand reached toward the door knob and turned it slowly. The door creaked open and all he saw was blackness. He walked into the doorway and tried to look around. He saw nothing, but darkness. His heart beat started to quicken. The hair on his hands started to raise. He didn't like this at all and wanted out of this doorway. He tried to escape, but he ended up passing out on the floor. What lied behind that door was more than his inheritance, it was the fate of the Magical World.

Harry James Potter wasn't James Potter son at all. Lily was with child before she developed a relationship with James. James and Lilly didn't get together until their very last year of Hogwarts. They were friends until Lilly ended the relationship with Harry's father and got together with James to conceal the fact that she was 2 months pregnant. Harry's father is unknown to this very day. The name never left her lips.

The glamour's faded away from Harry. His hair grew out passed his hips and the color changed from a messy brown to a sleek coal black with grey streaks in it. His height changed, and he grew to 5'8". His robes were changed somehow, and they weren't Gryffindor robes anymore. They turned into jet black robes with an emerald hem at the bottom. His nails were painted green and they were long like claws. His skin tone changed from tan to a milky white. Lastly, his eyes changed as well. They changed to one eye emerald green and the other one silver.

As the young man laid on the floor passed out, the world was still turning around him. The soul of Hogwarts sensed the Keeper and transported him to the Hospital Wing of the school. Lena and Harry were connected in magic like a part of one's soul is finally matched. Lena the soul of Hogwarts wheezed in happiness and the castle creaked with new life.

Severus sensed the change in the air. The Keeper was here. He got up and swept toward the Hospital Wing. He knew the Keeper would be there.

Dumbledore feared that this day would come. He sensed the change in the air as well. He shivered and headed off to the Hospital Wing. He sensed that Lena was happier and more whimsical today. How very unusual of her.

Severus and Dumbledore made it to the Hospital Wing together. They almost bumped into each other. They entered together and saw Poppy was scanning the unknown individual.

"Poppy, anything?" Dumbledore whispered, barely registering on the Potion's Masters ear.

Poppy looked up with amazed eyes. "It's Harry Potter. He has changed. A lot."

Severus was stunned. For once, he was speechless.

Dumbledore looked gravely. His little secret will be coming to light. He didn't expect it would for another year or so if Harry didn't die from defeating Voldemort. No one is going to like this as all…

Harry awoke to murmuring of words by his ears. Harry's eyes flipped open suddenly as he jolted up. "What the…?"

Dumbledore decided to take point in the discussion. "Harry. You are alright. You are in the Hospital Wing. Do you remember anything?"

Harry's eyes slowly slid over to the aging man. "The last thing I remember was wondering the passage ways. I found a new passage way and decided to explore it. Then I found myself in front of a large Silver Door. I was compelled to open it and then here I am."

Dumbledore sighed in reaction to this news. He didn't like this at all. He decided he was going to tell the lad the truth and be blunt about this time. "Harry, I don't know how to say this, but you are the Keeper of the Silver Codes. It's a Peverell inheritance. Somewhere in the Peverell line you somehow got the trait. Mostly from your father and not James Potter. James Potter isn't your father. We do not know who he is. I am sorry my boy at this news."

Harry was in shock. He didn't know what to do or say.

Snape finally snapped out of it. He looked over to Potter and grimaced. The news finally sunk in. Not James Potter's brat? This was news. Maybe he had a shot after all.

When it seemed like hours, but it was a few minutes, Harry snapped out of it. "Where are the Silver Codes then?" He asked suddenly like he was meant to blurt it out.

Dumbledore raised his head up. "They are with Severus." He said deadpanned.

"Yes, Potter. The Codes are with me since I am the Guardian of the Codes that hands down the Silver Codes to the Keeper." Severus stated with ease.

Harry nodded. "It's time to go. The Silver Codes are pulling me near them. I need the Codes now. Please let's go." Harry was more insistent than usual.

Severus nodded. "Let's go to the Dungeon and into my personal quarters."

Everything he knew was washed away and placed with certain knowledge about the universe. The Past, Present, and Future was in his mind. Harry didn't know what to do, but to go with the flow.
