A quick drabble. Spoilers for the end of the second series... you have been warned.
I do not own Kuroshitsuji. Which is a shame.
Sebastian is the most trustworthy person Ciel knows.
Even though he's not really a person.
It's a curious thing, but true. At the beginning of their partnership he had been wary; always waiting for a stab in the back, for the slightest indication that Sebastian would turn on him- but he never did. When Ciel sold his soul in exchange for a butler, that was exactly what he got. One hell of a butler, in fact.
He satisfied Ciel's every whim, put up with every childish demand, every indignity. Where others could be bribed, Sebastian would stay firm. Where others might grow inattentive, Sebastian would put his fullest effort into everything he did. From perfectly cooked deserts to perfectly brewed tea to perfectly polished silverware to perfectly executed murder, Sebastian did everything Ciel wanted, without fail.
Ciel knew that he didn't have to- their contract couldn't be that binding, not on a creature as powerful as Sebastian. Claude had betrayed Alois, in the end, but even now, now Ciel was soulless, and Sebastian had nothing to gain, he remained the perfect butler.
It was kind of sad, really, that out of everyone Ciel had ever met- humans and death gods and angels alike- the most honest and honourable and trustworthy of all was the demon that came for his soul.
