"Zion, will you hurry up. We need to go to Pewter and get Rayne before the boat leaves." Raz pounded on the door as his friend continued to get dressed for their new journey. Raz was standing in his regular black pants and boots with the only change in he was wearing silver hooded long-sleeved shirt that had a golden pokeball symbol on the right side instead of his sweatshirt. He ran his hand through his golden hair before he pounded on the door again.
"One sec. Perfection takes time you know." The boy responded as he changed shirts again.
"Whatever. I'm going down to wait with Kira and Sara. Just speed it up a bit." He walked down the stairs and entered the kitchen of the Hightide Estate. Kira was sitting at the table with Toxeon and Kirlia as they ate breakfast. Raz went and sat next to them.
He looked at his girlfriend as she was wearing a different outfit then she had during there journey through Kanto. Now she had gold shorts on with silver lines down the sides and new black boots. Her shirt was a gold short-sleeved shirt with a silver pokeball symbol on the left side. She had decided to go from the long gloves that would cover where her arm was connected for some short fingerless silver ones. Zion had teased her for being a mirror of Raz, but was silenced when she began coming back with smart remarks fueled by Kirlia. Her silver hair was also still held back with the clip her boyfriend had given her to keep her face from being hidden. She smiled when she caught him looking.
"So where is my no good brother at. We need to leave in an hour to get there tomorrow with enough time to get to the boat on time." Sara picked up a piece of toast as she leaned on the counter. She had changed a lot since joining with Raz and the others at the end of the previous month. She had rinsed out her red hair color and went to her natural blue that she kept cut to just above her shoulders. Her clothes for this journey were black jeans, boots, and a t-shirt, all with blue flames up the sides and at the ends of the sleeves and pants legs. She sighed as they heard what sounded like elephants coming down the stairs.
"Took you long enough." She stuck her tongue out as the boy smirked at her. Raz looked at him quickly.
"Wow, it took you all of 3 hours to wear almost the same thing as you normally do." The boy acted like he had been offended by the remark.
"This is drastically different thank you." Raz looked at him again and saw that it was different, but not really of any importance. His shirt was originally Hawaiian themed but now had a Gyarados that wrapped around it. His shorts, which were plain blue before now had Vaporeons on the sides. His sandals were exactly the same, as was his goggles he wore to keep his blue hair up.
"Right. Anyways, are you guys ready? Did you get your Pokemon your bringing? I've got Grim, Kirlia, and Articuno with me. Crobat, Bellossom, and Tyranitar wanted to stick around Oak's and help him out." He looked as Kira raised her head.
"Absol and Dragonair were that way also. I'm just bringing Toxeon and Gallade." Her baby poke giggled as her name was spoken. Sara sighed as the others laughed.
"I'm bringing Charm and Torkoal. Rapidash and the others wanted to stick around here and run for a while." Zion looked at his belt and counted his balls as she spoke.
"I've got Omnivee, Zurtle, Gyarados, Mantyke, and I'm bringing Horsea with me. He wanted to see the world." He held out the 5 pokeballs to emphasize the point.
"I thought Omnivee hated her ball." Kira looked at Kirlia who nodded.
"She did. I decided to build 1 she would like though. This pokeball simulates the estate, and she seems to like since that makes it all pretty large. So now I'm gonna keep her in it for a while. It even simulates people and Pokemon so she's probably playing with Grim and the others right now." He put the balls up and grabbed a bottle of water. As he drank it, Raz made a phone call.
"Hello." He could hear noises and fighting in the background as Rayne answered.
"Hey Rayne. Just calling to let you know we're on our way. After we pick you up we go back to Viridian and catch a boat to the border, where we have to switch to a hot-air balloon to cross Mount Silver that divides the regions. You got your Pokemon ready?" He heard her wrestling for the phone as she finished.
"No I will not ask for his autograph. Yea, I'm leaving Wingull, Lucario, and Leafeon. Wingull, actually, I released. He didn't seem to be enjoying travel life, so we let him go. Lucario and Leafeon were powerful, but they weren't enjoying travel either so I'm letting Forrest use them for the gym. I gotta go now, someone just set something on fire." As she hung up, Raz heard her yelling and making a great deal of foot-steps start running.
"Ok, you guys ready?" They all nodded and Kira recalled Toxeon. She picked Kirlia up and they all headed out the door.
--
As they entered Viridian, they noticed that a new gym was being erected. This one would be smaller then the last from the looks of the steel frames they had positioned. Just looking at the spot however, made Raz shudder and increase in breathing. Kira reached out and grabbed his hand, stopping the breathes.
"It's alright, we're all here and safe. Just try to forget about it." He smiled as she calmed him. The others had continued walking and were already at the entrance to the forest. They rejoined quickly and entered the forest, leaving bad memories behind them.
--
"So where did she say to go to." Zion was standing on a giant boulder and looked down on the city in the evening sun.
"She said she was staying with the people that took her in when her parents join Team Rocket. It's right next to the gym." Raz was making his way down already with the others. Zion launched himself off and landed on the street below them all.
"Hurry up, I wanna get on that boat." He was jumping up and down as he waited for the others.
"It doesn't leave til tomorrow. We're staying in the forest tonight on the way back." They walked past him while he was stunned silent. He joined quickly though and was nibbling on a piece of cake. They arrived quickly and saw Rayne with some younger kids. They looked like they would soon be able to start journeys if they wanted.
"Hey guys." She seemed out of breathe as they waved at her. Raz noticed she had changed outfits like the others. She was now wearing blue jeans with a pair of older looking boots, and an orange shirt. Her gloves were blue now and her purple hair was no pulled back into a ponytail.
"So this is who you stayed with. That had to be fun." The kids stared as Raz laughed. They looked a little nervous to be near him.
"Rayne, you forgot your-YOU!" Flint was coming out with a wrapped box until he saw Zion.
"It's the old man. How's age treating ya? You should eat more cake to help out, it'll make you feel younger in no time." He laughed as the older man began turning red.
"I'm not old. You punks have no respect for my generation. How about I take you in a rematch and show you what I can do now?" He pulled out a ball and stared at the boy. Raz held his hand up before an answer came out.
"We don't really have the time. We need to go pretty quickly. You ready?"
"Yea, I just need to grab my bag and we can go." She turned and ran inside before coming out with a pack on her back.
"Don't forget this. We all worked hard to get it for you." Flint handed her the box as they started away. One of the girls that was standing next to Rayne stepped forward.
"M-m-mr. Razal sir, please look after our sister." She watched as the young man turned around.
"No problem." The others cheered as the group went up the hill and into the forest.
--
"They thought pretty highly of me. Why were they so nervous?" Raz added some wood to the fire while everyone else got into their bags.
"They were originally gonna get everyone's autograph, but I told them that if anyone annoyed you, Grim would come out and eat them." She laughed at the thought those kids would have had if she had gotten Raz to release the dog while they were there. She then turned to her package they had given her.
"It's a nice gift. You'll like it." Kirlia rolled onto her belly and raised her head as Rayne unwrapped her gift. She pulled all the paper off and opened a box that was under it. Inside was a pokeball. She looked at it and when it expanded, she saw that the kids and Flint had all engraved their names onto it. As tears started forming at the sweetness, the ball burst open.
"Abra." The poke looked at the group and then saw the pokeball. He jumped up and walked to where the girl was laying before touching the ball and going back in. Kirlia was shaking with laughter.
"He was tired and wanted to go back to sleep." Raz chuckled while the other looked at them. The little dancer calmed herself as she answered. "Abra typically sleep 18 hours a day." They all laughed a little then as the last of them got into his bag. He reached out and held Kira's hand as they drifted to sleep.
--
The midmorning sun was shining high as they got to Viridian. They could see the dock and decided to go ahead and board, for nothing else but to get both Raz out of Viridian as his shaking came back as they crossed around the gym, and to get Zion to shut up and be on the water. They waited for close to an hour before the boat started and began leaving the city behind them. They watched it as Raz began to feel relieved. Zion was jumping with joy over it all.
"Time to begin again. No worries about this one guys. Time to have a peaceful journey." Raz kissed Kira as the stood on the back of the ship and watched the city fade. Kirlia mocked disappointment.
"Wheres the fun in that?" They all laughed as she acted upset.
"Where indeed." Eddy watched from the top as the group eased into there carefree mood, unknowing that they were being watched.
