Hi everybody! This is the first story the site has let me post. This story hasn't got a plot just yet, but it will hopefully get more interesting as it goes. You might notice in this and other chapters that the dreams that Danny and Sam have are related to events in the show.

I don't own Danny Phantom. If I did, well . . . let's just say it wouldn't be good.

He dreamed again. He felt himself slip into a form-fitting black and white hazmat suit, zipping it all the way to his throat. His voice came, words slipping unbidden from his mouth. "Do I hafta wear it? I feel ridiculous! I'm sure it's safe enough without one of my parents weird costumes." He wasn't sure who he was talking to, as he was facing a large hexagonal portal that seemed foreboding, but beautiful in a technological way, blue wires and circuits lining the interior. A feminine voice answered his earlier question.

"Yes, Danny, you have to wear it. It's for safety reasons. It looks great on you anyway, and it's not like anybody besides us is gonna see you in it. Now just hurry and go inside!" He turned to face the speaker, already knowing who it was. The girl who haunted his dreams. Her purple-black hair framed her face, all but the small amount pulled back into a small ponytail. Her violet eyes watched him with equal parts amusement and embarrassment, as her former statement sunk in. He felt a blush creep across his face. No girl in real life could make him blush like that. The bit of pink tinting her own pale cheeks only seemed to make her more beautiful. He was snapped out of his thoughts by an even more familiar voice, that of Tucker Foley, his best friend. "Sam's right. If you two lovebirds are done with your blush fest, can we get on with it?"

Both blushed even more thoroughly, yelling in sync, "WE'RE NOT LOVEBIRDS TUCK!" Tucker rolled his eyes, but didn't comment. Danny took a deep breath. Stepping inside the portal, he strained to see in the dim lighting. He wasn't watching his step. His foot caught on a cord that snaked across the floor. In an instinctual effort to keep from falling his arms shot out to find purchase, something to hold him up. Instead, his left hand brushed against a button on the wall. The portal began to hum loudly as it powered up. He tried in vain to get out before something happened. Green energy filled the portal, blasting Danny with spectral energy. It was more painful than anything he could ever have imagined. He heard Sam and Tucker as the world went black. "DANNY!!"

Prince Daniel Fenton, age 14, never thought to much about the powers he was cursed with. He just used them. He didn't remember how he got them, or a time that he had been without them. Since his sister, Crown Princess Jasmine, was first in line to the throne, he was able to shirk royal duties and focus on what he considered to be more important. Ghost hunting. He protected the kingdom of Amity from wayward spirits that enjoyed wreaking havoc. He was not alone. His best friend, Tucker Foley, helped him by creating distractions and filching technology from the secret Fenton Laboratory.

Samantha Manson, age 14, was never one to be called ordinary. She hated her full name, preferring to be called Sam. Her purple-black hair was half pulled into a high ponytail normally, leaving the rest to frame her face, accentuating her startling violet orbs. Dressing in dark clothing, bearing a rather sour view on life, she was everything her parents detested. And she liked it that way. Her only real friend was a boy named Tucker Foley. She didn't often see him, as he was often with the spoiled brat called a prince. And she had been having strange dreams...
