Heidi wasn't the type who liked to make the first move, so she had no idea why she even considered buying those light-blue contacts. This act had brought her more attention throughout Volterra and the Volturi that she didn't appreciate. Heidi had hoped that Aro had seen her plans this morning and would understand the need she felt to do this for her family. Usually the guard provided the meals, but Heidi was determined to try and attest her spot.
But why was she trying to prove herself this way? Aro pondered this as he waited Heidi to announce her excursion through the city that he had seen in her thoughts. She had always been more comfortable observing the world, not stepping into the spotlight to explore it. Of course, she had thousands of years of experience so Heidi could understand the humans and how they would react to her. As much as her decision bewildered him, Aro felt no need to contradict it.
Gliding through the shadows of Volterra was habit for Heidi, so stepping out into the square during this overcast day was a strange feeling. She immediately noticed the thousands of eyes on her; mostly the tourists. These humans had evolved so much in the past two thousand years of her life. When she was nineteen, men would have never gazed so out rightly at a woman so barely of-age. But Heidi also understood that the enthusiasm that media gave to sexual excursions gave confidence to such strangers, and this knowledge gave Heidi a deadly advantage over her newfound prey.
The warm blood was so close to her that her mind twisted into one of a predator's. Her thoughts turned complicated, but Heidi was able to keep enough control of her instincts to remain extremely observant. Seduction seemed the easiest means of manipulation to attract her family's meal, so Heidi continued deeper into the square, searching for the vulnerable. One man stage whistled at her, which caused Heidi to smirk. She pushed through the crowd to meet this fool who was about to meet the ultimate price for his brainless exploit.
Heidi had captured her first meal in hundreds of years and she liked it.
A/N: I think I'm going to go make a rewrite of sorts and make a more detailed account of her feelings throughout her first 'fishing' trip. Also, maybe a story about why she first decided to hunt for the Volturi. Hmm, 1st Person PoV or 3rd Person PoV? Review?
Yet another short drabble! I think I'm going to continue make stories out of my drabbles. I have backstories and continuations to each one, so I'm considering it. Anyone like the idea?
Reviews, as always, are very appriciated!!
Thanks for reading!
