Dead or Alive

A Naruto Story

Sasuke walked to the balcony at his hideout. He tried to imagine the price he had paid to kill Itachi. Was this worth it? He had killed Itachi but now what? He did what he wanted to do but now he is completely alone. He realizes the truth regrets leaving Sakura at the village entrance. He made his mind. There was no doubt in his mind. He was going back.

Sasuke packed his things and he put on his black robe and wore the cloak over it. Karin, Jugo, and Suigetsu stood at the entrance of their hideout.

"Sasuke, where are you going?" Suigetsu asked.

"I'm going back." Sasuke answered.

"But do you think that they will take you back after all that you have done? Think about it, man."

"Suigetsu, I've made up my mind. You can either come with me or stay behind, which ever you want."

"Well wait for me!" The two rushed out of the hideout as Karin and Jugo stood in awe of what they just heard.

"Well don't leave me behind." Said Jugo.

"Fine you guys could go- ohh what am I thinking? Wait up!" Karin cried. Sasuke used his Sharingan to keep track of any unwanted chakra in the area. He heard a rustling in the leaves and then he drew his sword and he couldn't believe his eyes. The blonde ninja in front of him was the exact man he was hoping to see.

"Naruto!" Sasuke cried.

"Sasuke, don't make another step." Naruto replied with an aggressive tone. "Don't move or I'll attack."

"Naruto, I did all I wanted to do. You were right. Come on. You've been dying to bring me home and now you don't want me to even get within twenty feet of you?"

"Exactly. Sasuke you tried to kill me thousands of times. The Elders were in danger. You joined the Akatsuki, and now you just want to up and run home. I can't be naïve forever, you know. Do you remember that day when you said, you've always been naïve, Naruto. They say that two ninja can read each other's thoughts without uttering a single word. Can you tell what's on my mind? I'm gonna kill you! You said that countless of times and I realized years later that you don't care for us. In fact you don't care for anyone but yourself."

"No! That's not me! Not anymore!"

"Well, you're still my friend so I'm gonna give you a heads up. Stay away from the village."

"What!"

"There's a price on your head, on or off of you."
