Lie Under the Stars
It finally happened
No hidden feelings
They were finally together
"I'm sorry we had to wait this long Fry" said Leela, "I always thought you were such a moron but... I was the stupid one."
"No, you're smart, cool, not to mention beautiful" replied Fry.
"I know" she said, "But I wish I'd given you a chance sooner now. Sure you're not as smart and successful as other guys but you're the sweetest guy I know."
They were lying on a blanket together looking up at the stars. The park was the most beautiful place at night in New New York. A flying bill board advertisement went by.
"Those things can really get annoying," sighed Leela "I wish there would only be the moon and the stars at night."
Fry chuckled "Hehe...moon"
"Was it fun living in the stupid ages?" she asked.
"It was alright. Wasn't much fun for me though."
"Why not?"
"Wasn't that much left for me? I didn't have a purpose back then."
"Everyone has a purpose."
Leela kissed Fry on the cheek and rested her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
"This is the life here" he said, "Having my six year old dream come true about having a best friend as a robot and having you. I waited for this moment so long and now it's finally come true. I guess you're right, everyone does have a purpose... although I'm not sure whether Zoidberg does or not."
He gently stroked her hair as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The lovers rested there for an hour until Fry asked something.
"Hey Leela?"
"Huh?"
"I missed my folks for a while now. Do you think the Professor has some invention I can use to travel back in time temporarily?" questioned Fry.
"Farnsworth has an invention that will give you instant ass injections. Of course he has a time machine" replied Leela.
"Another question."
"What is it this time?"
"Will you go with me?" he asked, "I mean we can see the real Old New York, not that fake one we visited that one time. We can go to an arcade, have pizza with anchovies, show that kid who made a fool out of me that I have a woman."
Leela giggled, "Oh you mean that twelve year old you told me about from your job as a dilevery boy a thousand years ago."
"Yep, that's the one. And I can see Seymour again!"
"I thought you didn't care if you saw your dog again."
"Well I loved my dog but I love other people more" said Fry.
"Um, why do love me? Why do you want to be with me?"
"Because you're everything to me. You're what I dreamed about my whole life."
Leela pulled him into a passionate kiss. She ran her hands through his hair. Fry went under her tank top and felt her back. He didn't do what she expected him to. They already 'did it' before so they got it out of their system. But don't fear, there will be plenty of other times.
"I love you Fry."
"I love you too hot stuff."
"So do you think I'll fit in... if I wear sun glasses I mean?" she asked.
"Sure you will. I can introduce you to Sam if you want. He lives in back of an alley and get this- he's missing both of his big toes!"
"How shocking" she said with good hearted sarcasm.
