Cold lonely night

2 days have passed since I last spoke her. I look at the time. 23:30... I go downstairs, take my leather jacket and put my black tipped gloves on. I open the door and step outside thinking of going to the park... As I walk the only sounds I hear are the wind, the crunching snow underneath my shoes and my slow warm breath that turns into white smoke when I blow...

To my surprise there are no cars, no people, just me and my shadow.

I watch my feet as they leave tiny marks in the white carpet and when I look up I notice there are only white parked cars. The black color of the streets separates them from the white pavement I'm walking on... Halfway a car passes me the bright lights shining in my eyes and then slowly drives by and disappears...

There is no more light in the houses I pass, I guess people are sleeping... I walk up the nearly invisible path that leads to the park... my feet are getting cold. The park lights are still on as I walk towards the pond... Arrived at the pond I stand still next to a leafless tree... Watching the pond covered with snow I wonder how thick the ice underneath is...

It's very cold so I put my hands in my pockets.

I continue walking to the open spot where there used to be grass... I look up but the trees cover my sight so I decide to walk to the middle of the open spot... As I stand there I look up again. The skies are clear and filled with beautiful shimmering stars... I think of her twinkling eyes and how beautiful they are... I wish she was here... A warm salty tear rolls over my cheek and makes a little hole in the snow... As I search the sky for more stars I spot the three aligned stars I remember from my childhood when I looked up from my bedroom window... I wonder if she is looking at the sky too... probably not.

I decide to return homewards so I start to retrace my steps. As I cross the street I nearly slip, luckily I can regain my balance and continue walking. It's so quite... man I miss her...

When I get at the front door I'm two inch taller from the snow sticking on my shoes. I kick against the wall trying to get the snow off. I reach for the door key in my left jeans pocket and open the door. I clean my shoes at the doormat and decide to take em off anyway... with shoes in my hand I enter the living room realizing I forgot to switch the light off... I walk towards the kitchen and leave my coat on the hallstand my shoes dripping little drops on the floor... I go upstairs, enter my room and put my shoes under the radiator. 01:20...I look through my window as I kill the light... even the roofs are white...
