Whenever it rains, I'll remember

Who should have known that he would end up here, all by himself; eyes staring at the darkening heaven and drippy liquid running down his skin?

The whole time he had spent with sitting there; his knees supporting his chin and his arms wrapped around them loosely.

Dismal thoughts sneaked into his mind, dimming the only light remaining.

'Life isn't just that easy' He remembered that this was some sentence he got to hear quite often; honestly, these few words were burying much truth in them- he had to admit unwillingly.

'It's just the nature of humans to hurt each other. They tend to do this- even it it's not intended, they do it unconsciously then.' A sentence, sounding like it has been taken out of some student's book.

A soft sigh escaped his lips. It was too pessimistic to think this way, wasn't it?

Although it partially was true, too.

Because that was just the reason, why he was cowering on the school's roof.

School activities had ended some hours ago and he doubted that anybody- except him, of course- was still on the campus.

He was alone.

Completely.

But it didn't bother him.

Because unlike those usual moments he wanted to be like this.

And after long moments he started to feel chilled, shivering, because the raindrops continued to soak through his clothes; his slender frame trembled slightly.

Finally,

it seemed like the greyish cloud, which had covered up his heart and soul, started to disappear.

Good thing.

"Do you feel better?", a barely audible voice suddenly asked; words, fragile like the wings of a butterfly.

He hadn't noticed the other one standing there; but when he turned around, he saw him leaning against the concrete wall; his hair and clothes soaked with the water of the pouring rain.

"H.. How long have you been there?", he managed to ask.

How long did you watch me sitting there? Which secrets did you discover?

"You didn't recognize me, did you?" A small smile enlightened the others features, but his eyes remained as concerned and somehow.. sad as they had been before. After some short pause, his vis-à-vis continued. "Honestly, I don't know how much time passed by since I came here, but…"

But?

"But you didn't seem to be ready to talk about what's upsetting you, so I assumed that you'll need some more time for yourself.."

"So you waited there? The whole time..? Without saying anything?"

And without taking better care of yourself? By the way, does that make any sense?

That couldn't be true, could it?

"It's okay." The other's smile broadened, when his lips curved a bit more; a tiny movement with such an amazing effect. It was like sunrise.

He just wanted to straighten up and to step at his friend's side. Solitude wasn't made for him after all- that was his conclusion.

"You want to tell me?" Accompanied with these words, the others right hand reached out. Slender fingers, which offered their support.

So he finally got up, tried to leave those depressing thoughts behind and grabbed the offered hand; their fingers entwining.

He leaned forward and wrapped his free arm around the other's waist, while he rested his head against his shoulder; breathing unsteadily as he was trying to suppress the tears, which started to blur his sight.
