The Language of Toddlers

Harry Potter sat with his two year old son, James and his one year old son, Albus. Albus was happily chewing on a teething ring and James was busy attempting to climb his father's body.

"Daddy?" James asked patting Harry very forcefully on the cheek.

"Yes little man."

"Arden." James asked

"What James?"

"Arden!"

"He's saying garden, Harry." Ginny voice said suddenly as she brought a basket of washing in from outside.

"Oh right." He said, slightly ashamed that he couldn't understand his son. "Ok James we'll go in the garden.

"Ocks an oos." James said

Harry again looked very confused. "What, sorry?"

"Ocks an oos!" James was getting rather angry at his father's inability to understand anything that came out of his small mouth, "Ocks an oos! Ocks an oos! Ocks an oos!"

Yet again Ginny walked in but this time carrying a pair of small white socks and a pair of small blue shoes. She handed them to her husband.

"Socks and shoes, Harry."

And with that she walked out of the room.

"Oh." Was all Harry could say.

A/N James is based on my two year old brother and Harry is based on my dad. My dad CANNOT understand anything he says! My stepmum is the only one who understands him fully as she spends all day every day with him, like Ginny.
