Bruce Wayne was a bundle of nerves. It was strange to him that he was so nervous because he was usually a very confident man. However proposing marriage to his girlfriend was sending him into a flight of nerves. He dearly hoped that she didn't notice. After Rachel had died Bruce had never pictured himself with another woman. He was quite content to leave the rest of his life as a bachelor, but then she walked into his life.
Chloe Sullivan had a way of walking into a room and being noticed. He first saw her at one of his numerous parties, and was amused when she rebuked him. He was intrigued by her. It took a lot of his charm to get her on a date with him, and a promised interview. As they started dating and getting to know one another Bruce fell for her quickly, and hard. Alfred approved of her, and when he told her about his nocturnal activities all she said was, "I know."
Now here they stood walking in one of his gardens enjoying eachother's company. Bruce squeezed Chloe's hand, and stopped. She looked up at him and smiled. Bruce took a deep breath.
"Chloe, will you marry me," he asked.
"Yes."
