Pacey Witter sat on the couch contemplating how much had changed in the last week. He had let her go, in the end it was his only choice, she was leaving for Worthington and she didn't need him tagging along. He loved Joey, there was no doubt about it, she was the only girl for him and it took every ounce of self-restraint he had not to pick up the phone and beg for forgiveness. He just kept telling himself he did it for Joey, and it was for the best.

However, that left him here, thinking about of the times they had shared. She had always been there for him, as his friend, as his lover, and his partner in crime.

Not that any of that mattered now, in a few months she would be in Boston having the time of her life. He was so proud of her; she had worked for this for so long, pulling double shifts, first at the Ice House and now the Yacht club, all while maintaining straight A's.

He couldn't do this, sit around in nostalgia all summer while he slowly watched the people he loved file out to start there new lives. He then knew what he had to do, he picked up the phone and dialed the number to hear a familiar voice on the other end.

"Hi Mr. Kubelik, its Pacey Witter, does that offer to spend the summer on Dean Newman's boat still stand?"

Three Months Later

Pacey Witter returned to Capeside a changed man. Three months at sea was exactly what he needed. The never-ending waters allowed him time to be with his thoughts, and he seemed to have a lot these days. He knew some would see it as weakness, an inability to deal with his problems, and in a way, it was he admitted.

He knew he couldn't stay in Capeside, this town would definitely send him over the edge, he also knew that he needed to be with his friends right now, that left him two options, LA or Boston. LA had a definite upside, endless parties, sleepless nights, and his best friend. But, Boston too had its charms, Jack and Jen, stability-which was something he was lacking right now- and the inevitable reunion with Joey, which despite himself, he was somewhat looking forward to.

Boston it is he thought.
