This was written by my sister, who decided to write a oneshot because she liked the idea of Alex being hit by a car. (cough, SADIST, cough)

Enjoy!

Matt and Jane had gone home in silence that day. What was there to say? One of the nurses had hopefully just been about to tell them that Alex was fine, but was then interrupted by a severe looking woman with a bad haircut, inquiring as to whether the hospital was secure.

For some reason, Matt had waited outside while she visited Alex.

"Sorry, I just can't." He had said, staring blankly at the wall.

He couldn't believe it. Matthew didn't know how to think of the kid. A colleague? An acquaintance? Or just some kid, out of his depth, doing a favour for the intelligence?

He had just turned up to the training centre, looking bold, but annoyed, and never once complaining. At the time, Matt had believed it to be some kind of experiment. Chuck a kid into someone else's world and see what happens. He had spent ages looking for the secret cameras, and wondering which reality channel this was being broadcasted into. He snorted.

TV was manipulative crap nowadays, and would go to any lengths for some viewers. What next? World's Funniest: Throwing Fat Kids Underneath Buses?

He had made his feelings clear from the start about the whole thing. Matthew had a strong sense of right and wrong, and was willing to do anything for some proper justice. If that meant being nasty to some poor kid who had no idea what he was in for, then so be it.

It was only after that incident in France that he had been left wondering. Had anyone even told the kid what he was in for? Didn't he even KNOW that one of their men had died that day?

He had no idea what was going on, but he'd had enough. He was sick of blood and grit and injustice, and the 'greater good.'

He had hated his life. He had hated what he was doing. He still hated his bloody father for making him join. Not long after the incident, Wolf had left the SAS and moved to London.

Although he was twenty-eight years old, he started a working on an architectural degree. The blasted thing was taking longer than it should, but Matt didn't care. He wanted some normal, honest work, and a clean start.

But then his girlfriend had to go and run over Cub! It had bought back the whole world he had fought to escape from.

It was an unbelievable coincidence.

Wolf grimaced at the irony.

Look at that attractive green button... Isn't it pretty? Don't you feel compelled to press it and see what happens?
