"The Scullys and the Weasleys"
By: Evangeline Henri
Rating: PG
Summary: A Christmas filk to Dar Williams' "The Christians and the
Pagans," starring our friends from the HP universe, and their "X-Files"
relations.
Archives: fanfiction.net; all others are welcome to it, just let me know
Disclaimer: Damn, the song isn't even mine; that's Dar Williams. And the
characters are an amalgam of ownerships- J.K. Rowling, Chris Carter, 1013
Productions, and Warner Brothers. All I can claim are the altered lyrics.
Dedication: To Atalanta de Lioncourt, who helped me at the beach with this. And to Mess, my Sci-Fi and Society teacher, to whom the divine Dar dedicated a song at one of her concerts. And to Lee.

Ron called his Aunt Dana, said, "We're state-side for the holidays. Harry and I just had solstice, now we need a place to stay." And his Christ-loving Auntie watched Mulder hang spaceships on the tree She heard Skinner sing Christmas songs with help from the Lone Gunmen three She told the Brit, "It's Christmas Eve, I know our life is not your style." He said, "Muggles are like wizards, and we miss you, and it's been a while."
So the Scullys and the Weasleys sat together at the table Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able And with the table laden down, the room looked really festive Then tawny owls flew in the room with gifts from wizard relatives
The food was great, the tree plugged in; the meal had gone without a hitch 'Till Byers turned to Harry, and said, "Do wizards really exist?" Mulder jumped up and said, "The truth is out there," and he hit the kitchen And it was Ron who spoke; he said, "It's true that Har' and I are different. But we are people just like you, and we have lives just like you do So no matter how it may seem, how strange can we two be from you?
So the Scullys and the Weasleys sat together at the table Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able And where does magic come from? I think magic's in the learning 'Cause now when muggles sit with wizards, only Mulder's fires are burning
When Ron tried to magic the dishes, Langly said, "Really, no; don't bother." Auntie Dana saw how Ron looked like her son, and also Arthur. She thought about the Burrow, how she hadn't visited in years She thought she'd seek them out, and say, "On Christmas Eve, young Ron was here." Fox thought of magic, ghosts, and goblins, saw his own son tug his sleeve, saying, "Can I go to Hogwarts?" Fox said, "We'll discuss it when they leave."
So the Scullys and the Weasleys sat together at the table Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able Lighting trees in darkness, learning new ways from the old, and Making sense of history, and drawing warmth out of the cold.
