It hurt, oh god it hurt. But my body held no comparison, to the pieces of my heart that splashed around in my chest cavity. My reason for living laid there, her eyes dull and lifeless, devoid the fire of youth she always held. I kneeled, tears running down my face as my sensei leaned against a tree unconscious, scooping her cold body in my arms. Her once vibrant chestnut colored hair was now matted with blood and dirt, my own broken bloody fist just adding to the discoloring. I killed that man who took away my light, my fire. His destroyed and broken body lying in ruins, barely discernable as a human being he once was. I took his life when I tapped into three gates using my kenjutsu Ura Renge, but I didn't stop. I just kept beating him with my fist, over and over. Kakashi-sempai had to pull me off of him.
Tracing a finger along her cheek I bent over and kissed her nose like we always did. Just a couple of teenagers in love. A tear fell onto her brow, for her nose was destroyed, bent in awkward ways. He moved down to her lips to kiss, as if he was trying to give her life. Once a cute pale pink, now her lips were a blue as deep as ice. Closing her once sparkling grey eyes, a sob racked him as he laid her down, his large brows shadowing his face. Standing slowly, he moved away towards his bag, which remarkably remained intact despite the large fight with four cloud-nins.
Kakashi looked towards his friend and comrade, sadness showing in his and Obito's eyes, a tear trailing down from the Sharingan. Gai stripped down out of his clothes, standing in the sunlight of what should be a beautiful spring. He stood there, nude his eyes closed as he put his face into the sun. He then bent down and pulled out the green suit she had gotten him. He honestly hated how it look. But for her he would wear this for the rest of his life, for now he had to carry his and her youthful spirit. Slipping it on, he threw on his chuunin vest over it and tied his hitae around his head.
"Kakashi," Gai said softly as he looked down to his love, " From here on out, you and me shall be rivals. I will train hard to beat you, and in turn be strong enough to protect my precious people. I will not fail her again."
"Hai." Kakashi said as he slipped his hitae back over his aching eye. Gai took out his hand and with a kunai, he slit his palm and held it out as the blood dripped.
" In the springtime of my youth, will spirit of fire, and the will of two, I will never be too weak to protect my loved ones. Ossu!" Kakashi walked over to Gai's sensei and slung him over his shoulder. The Azure Beast of Konoha picked her up bridal style and looked to Kakashi, "Let's go home."
They both disappeared from the destroyed clearing running towards Konoha.
