"Mum, can you tell me a story?"
Hermione took her eyes off her book to look at her daughter.
"Sweetheart, you're supposed to be in bed."
"Please! Just one story!" Angela made that pouty face that Hermione could hardly resist.
"Alright. Come on now, hop into bed and I'll tell you one." She smiled while taking her daughter's hand and guiding her to her room.
Once Angela was tucked in, Hermione asked her what kind of story she would like to hear.
"How about the story of how you and Daddy met?"
All at once Hermione's brain was flooded with memories. Yep, everything was coming back.
"Well okay. Your father and I…"
"Wait! You forgot to say once upon a time!"
"Dear me!" said Hermione, putting her hand up to her mouth. Angela giggled.
"Once upon a time, your mommy was on her way to Hogwarts."
"The school for wizards?" Angela piped in.
"Yes dear, that school."
Hermione continued, "And I was helping a little boy find his toad that he lost on the train to Hogwarts."
"What was the toad's name?"
"Honey, I don't remember. I think it started with a T but I'm not sure."
"Okay Mum."
"Anyways, I went asking people if they saw the toad, and at the very back of the train was where I met your father for the first time. He had a big smudge on his nose. That' s the thing I remember most, that smudge."
"Was uncle Harry there?"
"Yes. Daddy and uncle Harry have been best friends since they sat together on the train that same day I met your father."
"When did you and Daddy fall in love?"
Oh no.
Hermione couldn't tell her daughter that she had never really been in love with her father.
"Before we got married sweetie."
"What was you and Daddy's wedding like Mommy?
"It was a beautiful wedding. It was during June at your grandma Weasley's house."
"Was Grandpa there or was he watching from Heaven?"
Arthur Weasley had died from a brain tumor a year before Ron and Hermione got married.
"He was in Heaven."
But Angela had fallen asleep before Hermione could continue on with her story. She looked down at her daughter for a long time. Angela had freckles and bright red hair exactly like her father. But she definitely had some of Hermione in her, very intelligent and witty. Too bad she has that frizzy hair that I used to have when I was a child. Nevertheless, Hermione's only child was as precious as they come.
Or at least everyone thought that Angela was her only child.
A/N: OoO, some mystery! This story is going to be full of that kind of stuff! :-) Please review!
