Atlantis is a very old city. It was built by the ancestors and it was made to be a home for them. It saw the Ancients building devices. It saw them researching the animals and plants. It traversed the Pegasus Galaxy, seeing many worlds until the Ancients finally settled on Atlanita. It saw how the war with the Wraith started. And then as the fight escalated, Atlantis saw both victories and defeat.

And then they left.

Atlantis stood by and watched as the Ancients shut her systems down as they prepared to leave for Earth.

And then there was silence.

For nearly 10,000 years Atlantis was quiet. And then, an awakening. Atlantis could feel her systems being re-activated. Some one had awakened her. She could feel it. Footsteps on her floor, voices ringing in the corridors, and through the halls. But it wasn't the Ancient's. This was a new race she hadn't encountered before, but they had the genes of the Ancient's. Or at least some of them did. Like that Maj. Sheppard and Carson Beckett.

It wasn't long until they found the chair. And when they did, she could feel their minds connecting to her mainframe when they sat down. They came from a planet in the Milky Way ... called Earth ...they were stuck ...

...

Over the course of the next five years, these people took control of Atlantis. They started fighting the Wraith again. They were finishing what the Ancient's had started so long ago.

Yet, as much as Atlantis admired them for their resilient nature, she could not figure out their strange customs.

Yes, Atlantis is an old city. She had seen many things in during her 10,000 years or so of being. But nothing, not any program that the Ancients could make, could prepare her for the race called the Atlantis Expedition.

. . . 'What a strange name for a race,' she thought.

A/N I always had it in my head that Atlantis was like a really smart robot. She could tell what was going on, but being a ship/city there wasn't anything she could do about it. Oh, and if you're wondering why I call it a 'she', it's because sometimes people call a boat 'she'. Since Atlantis is a ship... I guess it just made sense in my brain. Anyways, this was my first Atlantis story! What did you think of it? Constructive critisim is ALWAYS welcomed! TTFN~
