"So… what is this thing?" He stared at the foreign object in his hand, extremely confused.
Orihime sighed, waving her own in the air. "It's called a popsicle, silly! They taste really good, try it."
Ulquiorra continued to stare. Though he was loathe to admit it, he had no idea how to 'try it'. Was he supposed to eat it the way he used to eat other Hollows, or…? "... How do I eat this?"
With an affectionately exasperated sigh, she demonstrated for him, slurping at the frozen dessert. "Like that!"
"Um… okay…" He tried to copy her, sucking on it like she was. It was cold inside his mouth, and sweet with a faint tinge of sourness, like… well, he wasn't really sure. The closest thing he could compare it with were the 'strawberries' Inoue had bought a few days ago.
He was wearing shorts (Guy shorts, of course), which was rather uncomfortable on his part. ("You need to get a tan!" scolded Orihime as she dragged him outside into the blistering summer sun.) His dark gray T- shirt rippled slightly in the breeze that swept by, blowing his already untidy black hair into his face. "This… tastes good…" he noted with surprise.
She smiled like an angel. "I told you!"
"You did," he agreed, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his pale skin for once. (Inwardly hoping that he wouldn't develop too bad of a sunburn.)
Orihime had to laugh as he tentatively ate the popsicle. It wasn't really his fault that he was entirely socially inept, though it did make him impossibly adorable when he was trying to figure out regular things like food.
For his part, though, he wasn't that terrible. Reasonably polite (Or maybe it was just because he used to be absolutely devoid of emotion) and ridiculously innocent about the world in some ways, he was truly…
What was the right word?
Oh, yeah.
Adorkable.
"Why is there a stick in it? You can't really eat that, can you?"
"It's for you to hold so you don't get your hands or the popsicle dirty."
"Oh. What do I do with it when I finish the popsicle?"
"You're done already?"
"Uh huh!"
Definitely adorkable, she decided as she led him to a nearby trash can and told him to throw the stick in-
"The holeat the top, not from the bottom or side!"
