I Want You Back
Author's Note: It's been two years since I started writing this story and looking back, I realized how my writing sucks. Honestly, I was cringing when I had read all my previous works. It dawned on me that I must work harder to improve my writing skills. With this, I had decided to pull out all the chapters for this story and rewrite it. I will try to make it better! I swear! And I'm not going to give up on this story!
Summary: Five years after leaving Sakura, Syaoran realized how wrong he was for leaving her. But will he be able to bring her back, now that Sakura has become indifferent to him and is about to be wedded to one of his famous co-actor…?

Chapter 1: Foolishness
"Arghh! I want to pull my hair out! What kind of crap is this?" as the eighteen-year old lady with auburn hair exasperated. "Crappy stories! Can't even meet my expectation!"
"Then why read it Sakura?" The other lady who was busy with her sketch book and colored pencils asked out.
"Just to pass time… I guess… since it's our university break and there's nothing to do at this time of the day in our house." The girl with auburn hair answered nonchalantly as she held her tablet a foot away from her face.
"Neh, Sakura…"
"Nani Tomoyo?"
"Has he texted you?"
"Who?" Sakura, who was lying on her back a few moments ago, decided to put her tablet down and sit up. She then looked at Tomoyo, her best friend of fourteen years, seriously.
"You know who I'm referring to." Tomoyo's voice suddenly became a bit playful. And with that, Sakura's face flushed while meekly answering, "Syaoran?" She then averted her gaze at the window beside Tomoyo, allowing her emerald eyes to appreciate the view of their neighborhood. "He called me last night. He said he will be in Tomoeda for a few days."
"That's great news then?!" Tomoyo's melodic voice became a pitch higher never failing to show her excitement. "You could finally spend some time with each other! It's been how many months since you've seen each other? Nine months? Am I right?" she asked Sakura. However, the answer she received from her best friend was only a quick nod and a longing look.
"You miss him so bad…" It was supposed to be just a thought to herself, however, she was unaware that she had said it out loud. With that, she hastily blurted 'I'm sorry' when she noticed that Sakura's features became a bit melancholic.
"I can' help it Tomoyo," Sakura sighed, "we've been a couple for almost two years now. From those two years, I could only count in my fingers how many times we really spent for each other. But I know that it can't be helped. He is a famous actor now. This has been his dream since we were small. I don't want to interfere with his dreams." As she solemnly told her best friend her frustrations.
"I know that I am lucky to have a few minutes talk with him every other day and a few exchange of texts every day. But sometimes I wonder, is this all right? I mean, could I just settle myself with this? With what we have now?" Sakura confusedly asked Tomoyo.
But before Tomoyo could answer her best friend, Sakura suddenly spoke.
"Sometimes…" Sakura then smiled; a sad smile at Tomoyo before continuing. "I feel like we are drifting apart." She stopped to reach for a pillow she could hug as she focused her gaze at Tomoyo while sighing.
"But I really can't blame him. He's busy with work and I am busy with my studies… It's just that… I want us to have more than what we could have right now. I want us to be a real couple…to be able to have normal dates with him, spend a short vacation out of town with him, talk to him more… just spend my time with him…"
She closed her eyes for a second or two, trying to stop the tears that were about to escape from her eyes. "And you know what Tomoyo, sometimes… sometimes… I can't help but feel a bit hurt and disappointed whenever I chance upon his interviews on t.v." Placing her hand on her chest as she clutched on her shirt, she added, "I know it can't be helped that he has to deny that he has a girlfriend because it may create a bad publicity for him, but sometimes…" She then looked at Tomoyo, finally allowing her tears to roll down her cheeks. "I secretly wished that he would say to the media that he has a girlfriend… so that we could finally meet without worries."
"Oh! Sakura!" as Tomoyo rushed towards Sakura. "I know that it's hard for you and Syaoran to be separated like this…" She embraced Sakura while she gently rubbed Sakura's back. "We grew up together and I've seen how much you and Syaoran love each other!" Gently, Tomoyo wiped the tears away on Sakura's cheek while smiling serenely. "Why not tell these things to him Sakura? Syaoran needs to know what you have been feeling to be able to think of ways how to make you feel loved."
"Tomoyo, I don't want to burden him… he has a lot going through his work right now. I just…" She then looked at Tomoyo, who was calmly looking at her. "I guess, you are right… Syaoran wouldn't know if I don't tell him right? He's not like the lead male characters I've read in romantic stories." And at that very moment Sakura finally smiled.
"You finally realized it Sakura." Tomoyo then laid herself on Sakura's bed. "We are humans Sakura. We are entitled to feel these different emotions. These emotions are also one of the reasons why we become humane. Embrace those feelings Sakura. It's part of growing up." Winking at Sakura, she continued with her talk. "You'll learn from these emotions… these experiences. Just don't forget about your mantra."
"Hai… everything will be all right!"
"That's it Sakura! No matter what happens, everything will be all right!"
Sakura then gave out a light laugh at Tomoyo. "Thank you Tomoyo."
Suddenly a ring from a phone could be heard.
"Whose phone is that?" as Tomoyo pointed at a table in front of them.
"Oh! Wait that's mine" Sakura sheepishly smiled at Tomoyo. "I just got it from Otou-san, a gift for making the honor's list this semester."
"Wow, good for you! Anyway! You should answer the phone now!"
As Sakura scampered to answer the phone, she forgot to check her phone to know who's calling her.
"Sakura, my plans changed. I'll be coming back in Tomoeda tomorrow morning and have to go back by tomorrow night also. Sorry, anyway I have to tell you something important also, I hope you are available tomorrow. I am sorry that I informed you just now."
"Syaoran?" Sakura asked confusedly since she was quite unsure who was on the other line.
"Yes, Sakura?" as Syaoran hurriedly answer.
"Ano... I love you" as Sakura answered timidly.
"I love you too. Good bye and see you tomorrow." And then he hanged up.
"Well?" as Tomoyo looked at Sakura and tried to ask what was the phone call about.
"It's Syaoran. He will be back tomorrow." As Sakura was saying this, she can't help but have this nagging feeling inside her. It's as if something not good might happen.
\~~~o~~~/
"Syaoran, who was that?" Miaka asked. They were at the set for the new film that Syaoran will be featuring at and Miaka has been chosen to be her leading lady.
"Oh, just an old friend that I have to meet tomorrow." Syaoran nonchalantly answered Miaka back.
"Well then, are you ready for our press conference two days from now?" Miaka, a red-hair beauty, with bright blue eyes smiled sweetly at Syaoran.
"Yup… and I'm glad we are finally going to let the people know that we are dating." Syaoran added as he gently held Miaka's hand.
"Hai... " Miaka blushingly held Syaoran's hand tighter.
Indeed, Syaoran was captivated by Miaka's appearance and character. However, he couldn't help but feel guilty with what he has been hiding. He knows that he couldn't keep on lying to her and to Sakura.
He loves Sakura but for him… Miaka is so much more.
'A grave mistake and sin.'
That was what he kept on telling himself for the past months. But he couldn't help it. Miaka is a lovely lady and so is Sakura. However, he has to stop his foolishness… his mistakes.
Righting his wrong… he needs to come clean.
He released a sigh as he closed his eyes for a second. 'I'm sorry Sakura.' When he felt Miaka gripped his hand, he then averted his gaze at her and smiled back.
To be continued…
