Pepper walked into the armory later that night to see Tony sitting in the system chair, playing his handheld video game. He seemed very focused on it, which could only mean one thing.

"Tony, something's wrong. Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be okay?" Tony asked, not looking up from his game.

"Because I know you and when you're playing video games you're trying to avoid thinking about something. So what's up?" Pepper explained.

"Wow. You guys know me better than I know myself sometimes. Kinda scary." Tony said. He sighed before explaining his troubles.

"It's just...seeing my mom again today for the first time in ten years. I-it was weird. I mean, I think about her a lot at night, but I haven't so much looked at a picture of her since she died. It brings back a lot of memories I didn't really want to remember." Tony explained.

"Well, at least you've had enough time to get over her death. I mean, it doesn't hurt to think of it, right?" Pepper asked, placing a hand on his arm.

"No, it hasn't made me depressed in years. It's just...for a split second I pictured getting mom back too. I pictured having a normal family again and going back to the way things used to be when I was a kid. I felt happier than ever for that split second, and then it all disappeared. It's just weird is all..."

"So you're okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, sure, I'm fine."

Pepper shrugged. "Alright...but it is pretty late, maybe you should go home and get to bed?" She said.

"Yeah, probably…" Tony said, shutting down his game and setting it down, then leaving for home.

Just a short oneshot…a few more are on the way. Review!
