First Times
Summary: Sydney answers Vaughn's phone. Silly and fluffy.
Spoilers: Phase One. This is probably set between Double Agent and Truth Takes Time.
A/N: This is my first Alias fic… I woke up at 6am on a Sunday, and this fic would not let me go back to sleep before I had written it. I had forgotten about it until this morning, Sunday, when I woke up at 6am again… There are a few French sentences in it; you don't need to understand them to understand the fic, but if you want a translation, please feel free to ask.
Hope you'll enjoy reading this =)
First Times
The ringing interrupted a very nice dream. Sydney opened an eye, sighed loudly, and grabbed the phone on the nightstand.
"Hello, this is Michael Vaughn's cell phone. He is currently asleep, but you are free to let him a message not involving the CIA, the late Alliance, Kendall or his being needed at work right now, after the beep. Thank you."
"Hello? This is Michael's mother..."
"Oh, hi. Considering that he's currently grinning, we can safely assume that he's awake. You want to talk to him?"
"Please."
Sydney kissed Vaughn's cheek and rested her head comfortably on his shoulder. "It's your mom."
Vaughn laughed softly and held out his hand. "I'm sure you've made a wonderful first impression. Maman ?"
"J'espère que je n'interromps rien..." 'I hope I'm not interrupting anything…'
"Euh, non." Vaughn bit his lower lip, unconsciously trying to hide his smile.
"… Et j'espère que ton amie ne m'en veut pas trop de l'avoir réveillée," Mrs Vaughn finished. 'and I hope your friend is not mad at me for waking her up.'
"Quoi ? Oh. Mon amie en veut à la CIA, tu sais, pas à…"
"Your friend is asleep and her ears are shut. And after the blunder she's made, you are welcome to say anything unkind about her."
He laughed and kissed her forehead. "Je t'aime."
"If that's all the unkind things you have to say about me, then I love you too."
His eyes widened. The words had escaped his mouth before he could stop them, and he certainly hadn't expected an answer like that.
"Wait a minute…" Sydney opened her eyes. "Did we just say what I think we just said?"
"Hum, I think so."
"Good. 's about time. Did you set up the alarm?"
"Huh uh."
"Great. ' night. I love you, Michael."
She hugged him tighter, rested her head more comfortably against his chest, and was soon asleep again. He stared at her for a long moment before he remembered his mother was still on the phone.
"Maman, je peux te rappeler plus tard ? … Non, c'est rien, le décallage horaire, c'est tout. … Okay, à toute à l'heure. Bye."
He'd call his mom later. For now, he just wanted to enjoy the moment. He put both arms around Sydney, kissed her nose tenderly, and went back to sleep.
Epilogue
The ringing interrupted a very nice dream. Vaughn opened an eye, sighed loudly, and grabbed the phone on the nightstand.
"Vaughn?"
"Hey. Kendall wants you and Sydney at the office right now. We have a situation."
Vaughn groaned audibly and handed over the phone to his lover. "Can you be my answering machine again?"
She smiled sleepily and put the phone against her ear. "Hello, this is Michael Vaughn's cell phone. If you are Eric Weiss with a message from Kendall, please press 'End call.' If you have a message involving the CIA, please press 'End call.' If you are anyone else, please hang up and call back in five minutes, to give Michael Vaughn the time to completely wake up. Thank you."
The end =)
