Title: Something Good

Disclaimer: I do not own Fruits Basket or R&H's lyrics.

A/N: This is a songfic to go along with "Something Good" by R&H.

Perhaps I had a wicked childhood

Perhaps I had a miserable youth

But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past

There must have been a moment of truth

-Flashback-

"Daddy, I'm home from school. I made a new friend today! She's really sweet. Oh, and I helped her carry her things home. I think that was a nice thing to do. Don't you?" a bouncing girl of seven says, walking into a small, but comfortable, home. She is smiling, pleased with herself.

"Arisa, how many times have I told you to come STRAIGHT HOME?!?!" a man appearing to be thirty or so says, an empty bottle of whiskey in his hand, and his face red with rage.

"What's wrong, Dad? Why are you angry? I didn't do anything mean," the girl says, now frightened. The father smacks the young girl hard and swift, causing her to yelp helplessly in pain.

"Don't you ever talk back to me like that again!"

The girl is now crying, her cheek red. "Da-daddy… what is it? What did I do…."

-End of Flashback-

For here you are, standing there, loving me

Whether or not you should

So somewhere in my youth or childhood

I must have done something good

-Present Time-

A beautiful young lady with blonde hair is standing in the doorway of Kyo Sohma's room.

"Come on, Orange Top, we're gonna be late!" she says.

"Oh, shut up already! I have one shoe and two feet, so you're just going to have to wait," he says, peering under the bed, searching. The girl just smiles and sighs.

"Arisa, are you sure you don't know where my other sneaker is?" Kyo asks her. She giggles, and she exposes it from behind her back where she was hiding it. Kyo sighs, and slightly smiles, taking the shoe. He lightly kisses her on the top of her head, in a soft, but held-back gesture. The whole showing-affection-thing is still new to them. It's getting better, but it's still hard to pour all their love into one person and trust them to take care of it.

Nothing comes from nothing

Nothing ever could

So somewhere in my youth or childhood

I must have done something good

- 8 Years Later-

"I, Arisa Uotani,
Take you, Kyo Sohma
To be my husband;
To have and to hold,
From this day forward,
For better, for worse,
For richer, for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
As long as we both shall live."

"You may now kiss the bride," the pastor says.

As he says this, Tohru bursts into a fresh set of tears. The sixth one, so far.

Kyo and Uo smile, and kiss, starting a whole new chapter of their lives.

I know this was OOC, and I admit to not being a very good writer, so flames are understood! Plz review, and tell me what you think! : )
