Prologue

"Well Lincoln and his sis Linka, they like to roll the dice!

By chance they came 'pon Lori's game and gosh they paid the price!

Pay the price...

And now they're fighting through the lands to keep their precious young lives.

And if they proceed but don't succeed...

Well...

They'll lose their hairs of white!"

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Inkwood Isle, there lived two twin siblings named Lincoln and Linka. They lived without a care under the watchful eye of the wise Elder Albert.

One day the twins wandered far from home and- despite Elder Albert's many warnings -ended up on the wrong side of the tracks and entered the Casino of Lori.

Inside, Lincoln and Linka soon found themselves on a winning streak. "Hot dawg!" exclaimed King Bobby, the casino's sleazy manager. "These two can't lose!"

"Nice run you two," laughed a newcomer. The twins gasped. It was the casino's owner- the devilish Lori Loud! "Now, how about we literally raise the stakes?" she suggested with a toothy grin.

"Win one more roll, and all the money in my casino is yours," Lori boomed. "But if you lose, I'll have your souls! Deal?"

Lincoln, blinded by easy riches, nodded and grabbed the dice for a throw. "Good gosh, Lincoln, no!" cried Linka, for she understood the danger. But it was too late.

"Snake eyes!" laughed Lori while slamming the floor. "You literally loss!" The twins were trembled in fear as she loomed over them. "Now, about those souls…"

The two pleaded for their very lives. "Th-there must be another w-way to repay you." Linka stammered. "Yes, p-please miss." Lincoln added.

"Hmm, perhaps there is," Lori snickered, pulling a piece of parchment from out of her bright red dress. "I have here a list of my runaway debtors. Collect their souls for me, and I might just pardon the white hairs on your heads. Not get going!" She roared, kicking the two out most rudely. "You have until midnight tomorrow to collect all the souls! Otherwise, not only will I collect yours, but I will literally turn two of you into human pretzels!"

Lincoln and Linka were terribly frightening and ran away as fast as they could. "C'mon Linka!" Lincoln panted. "We gotta find Elder Albert. He'll know what to do!"
