I own nothing, except my OC.

Isaac couldn't walk out of the veterinarian's office with an elegant saunter like he was hoping to. He couldn't even walk with the confidence of never looking back. Something just had to make him hiccup on his way out the front door.

"Hey," He said awkwardly.

"Hey," She replied coolly. A few moments of silence settled between them. "I heard you say you were leaving."

"Yeah." He nodded. Isaac wasn't lying when he said he had no one here for him. It was the truth but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt him to say it. Saying it out loud meant to finally admit it to himself. "You gonna try and stop me?"

"No, I don't have the right to do that." She shook her head. "I meant it when I said I couldn't be with you. I lost my chance to stop you when I said it. This is your choice now."

Isaac couldn't see the tight lip and locked jaw she was holding as he stepped out.

The medics weren't all too gentle when they set Isaac down on the bench of the locker room. He wasn't going to complain about it though, he was just grateful that they hadn't noticed his abnormal paralysis. His head began to swim with excuses when he heard the doors to the locker room open and close a second time and someone race in.

"Are you okay? I saw what happened?" The familiar voice knelt before him rang.

"Jackson got me with his venom." He answered honestly. "I'm starting to go numb."

"What are you doing here?" She brushed a hand over her lion's mane of unruly hair. "I thought you were leaving."

"I was but then I thought about all the fun I'd be missing out on." He smiled dryly. "And I knew it was the right thing to do."

"Do you need anything? I have water." She began fishing through her bag.

"No, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" She snapped her head up.

"Yeah," He tried to nod but was quickly reminded that he had lost the ability to. "What are you doing here Debs? I thought you said you didn't have the right."

"I said I didn't have the right to stop you from leaving and I don't, but that doesn't mean I don't care."

"That makes no sense." He grinned.

"Tell me about it." She chuckled.
