Sam was starting to think there was some truth in that book that Mikaela tended to quote at random when they were stuck in certain situations, due to the giant transforming alien robots that had settled in and around Tranquility over the years. Oh sure, from his junior year of high school to midway through college he was pretty much of the scream and run away types when he got caught in the middle of yet another skirmish between the two warring groups. Especially as now there wasn't some blue alien cube thing to save him. But with Megatron gone the fighting almost seemed halfhearted now, more like a reflex then anything else.
Especially when he got used to seeing certain Decepticons roaming the hallways of the Ark every Tuesday and Thursday night if a battle hadn't happen earlier that day, waving hello to Barricade on his way from the campus to his part time job as the police car sat idling in a parking lot and randomly scaring college kids by flickering his lights as if to give chase, or seeing a fully healed Frenzy with Rumble antagonizing both Ravage and Steeljaw while Eject and Rewind wrestled and threw insults every now and again at Buzzsaw and Laserbeak.
Little things that after dealing with them for so long it was unconsciously noted in the same way that most of the Autobots had learn to hit the floor when someone yelled duck due to the aerialbots flying inside again, or human and mech alike to watch where they walked and aim due to Mirage. Things that they didn't even blink about when new arrivals appeared and first encountered such while the seasoned one would just blink or ask what was wrong. Yet, that didn't mean they didn't acknowledge it, especially the humans that were adopted into the daily going ons of the Ark.
So it wasn't much of a surprise to the humans when he and Mikaela gave each other a look and burst out laughing at the park one day. When two new government officials were brought into the secret scurried to one side of the pond to feed the ducks and act like nothing was wrong. All while two police cars sat on the opposite side arguing over something or other and watching the two humans.
Sam would probably have to find a downloadable version of that book for Bee at least.
