I don't own Monk or any of her sister characters

DAMN! Trudy checked the clock. It was a quarter to 7. There was no way she would be back by 7 and that thing was starting to itch. Her car had broken down and she was 15 minutes away.

Adrian could see from the caller ID that it was Trudy calling.

"Honey?"

"Hey Adrian," she said, "I'm running a bit late. My car broke down on route ten so I'm gonna walk but I probably won't be back for about 25 minutes"

"It's too dangerous to walk," he said, "I'll pick you up"

She grinned.

"That would be great," she said, "I really appreciate that"

"Sounds like you're having a rough day," he said

"Sort of," she admitted, "I mean I was supposed to see my friend Ellen tomorrow… the one I haven't seen in years but obviously because of the situation that's impossible"

"Not really," he said, "I mean just because you guys can't see each other now doesn't mean that you can't see each other ever again"

He didn't tell her that Ellen was already there. He had paid for Ellen to come up to visit.

"So what else happened today?"

"Well that thing is really starting to itch," she said, "I probably have a rash from scratching at it"

"Ugh," he said starting to itch himself.

He paused then added, "I really wish it was me going through this and not you"

"It'll be over in a little while," she said, "anyway my car broke down a little while ago so that was no fun"

"I can imagine," he said.

The horn honked.

She got in the car and threw her arms around him.

"Thank you," she said, "Ugh what a day"

"I know," he said, "But it's over now. Come on. I can hear your stomach growling so we should stop off for a bite on the way home"

She laughed with a little humor.

"I doubt we can stop in 10 minutes and finish. Wouldn't the systems go off?"

"Yeah," he said, "And it would tell me you're with me which is right where you belong"

"So um…"

Tomorrow would be a better day. The day after things would get better. Right now though she was right where she needed to be. She was with the man she loved and there was no where else she ever wanted to be. In HIS WORLD she felt secure.
