I angled my ears toward Rowanash, hearing his confident-ish pawsteps as we made out way along a dry river bed. He stopped and then turned back to me, his scent becoming stronger. He gave me a lick on the cheek, distraction swirling around him in an odd pink color.

"Rowan?" I asked, leaning against him, my tone was concerned. He breathed a sigh, partially frustration and the other part love.

"How do you do that?" he meowed, pressing his muzzle against my chest. His aura changed to a light blue, signaling he was slightly sad.

You see, I have a secret. Yes, I am blind, and yes, I can tell a cat's mood by the colors swirling around them, but no, I do not have wings and am purple. Definitely not.

"I'm blind. I see more than others," I informed him, licking his eye instead of his cheek. He sputtered and pulled away, his aura now a playful dark yellow.

"You did that on purpose!" he growled, gently bowling me over. I dabbed at his nose, smiling. A rumble from the darkening sky warned us of the incoming storm and we rolled over, both of us shaking the sand from the bed from our pelts. I sniffed wonderingly, smelling the rain in the air. I blinked and then padded over to Rowan, rubbing our cheeks together.

"Come on. We'd better find a place to sleep, Rain." he meowed, standing shoulder to shoulder with me. A dark velvety red appeared in both of our auras. Love.

I smiled contentedly and leaned into him.

"I love you, Rowan. Forever."

The moral for the story?

Love conquers all.

Oneshot time! All done. Anyway, posted a new chapter of Birchsong's Truth: Rewritten, so look it up. =)
