Max and 99 moored their powerboat on the island beach and got out. Both carried large sacks, and Max had an old map. They began walking on a trail that led them through the woods.

"It's beautiful here, Max. Let's have a picnic, sometime," said 99.

"Not right now; this mission is too important. But perhaps we can do that when this is all over. A month from now, perhaps."

About a mile down, they came to a clearing. Max looked at the map.

"Hmm. . . According to this, the treasure is on the shore."

"You're looking at it upside down, Max!"

"Oh, yeah!" He turned it around. "It looks like it's alongside a creek."

"There's a creek up ahead."

They walked up to it. It was very muddy around it; it had rained heavily, recently.

"Don't tell me this is where we'll have to dig," said Max.

99 consulted the map. "Max, I think this is where we're supposed to dig."

"I asked you not to tell me!"

"I think I'll take my shoes off, first."

"Good idea, I'll do it, too."

They took their shoes and socks off and rolled their pants legs up. Then they took shovels out of the sacks, went into the mud, and began digging.

"I've heard that mud baths are good for the skin," said Max.

"They're not good for my feet!," said 99. She lifted her left foot and picked stuff off her toes.

They continued. At one point, Max accidentally flung mud over poor 99!

"Max!"

"Sorry about that, 99!"

Finally, Max hit a hard object.

"I think I've got something!"

She walked over and helped him dig it out. It was a large metal lockbox. They pulled it out and got the mud off of it.

"I shall now use my pickpocket skills."

He took out his gun and shot at the lock.

"Good work, Max!"

He took the lock off and opened the box. Inside were various papers. He and 99 quickly leafed through them.

"The Target File," said Max. "This will put a big dent in KAOS' organization."

"I vill take it!"

They looked up; a man and woman were there-both with guns!

The man was small, and had on a black suit. The woman was tall, beautiful, and had on a black dress. Both were barefoot in the mud.

"Boris and Natasha!," said Max.

He smiled. "At your zervice! Now, hand me za file!"

"And if I don't?"

"I vill kill you!"

"You're zo evil, dahling,!" said Natasha.

"Yes, I know!"

"All right, if you insist."

"Max!," 99 whispered.

"Don't worry, 99," he whispered back.

He put the papers back in the box and closed it up. Then he tossed it towards an area that was particularly muddy. It sank down in the mud.

Boris and Natasha ran over to retrieve it, and Max and 99 ran over to stop them. They began wrestling in the mud! Max wrestled Boris, and 99 wrestled Natasha. After a few minutes, Max and 99 were able to get the guns.

"All right you two, get out!," said Max. They get out of the mud. "Get the box, 99."

"Right, Max."

She walked over and picked up the box. It had sunk down in the mud, but fortunately was still visible.

Natasha picked mud off of herself. "My dress iz vuined!"

"Don't vorry, I vill buy you a new von at za KAOS store."

"Your zo good to me, dahling!" she hugged him.

"KAOS Store?," said Max.

"Iz a special store for KAOS employees only," said Boris.

"Nice! All right, you two, stay right where you are until you don't see us anymore!"

"This vill not be za last time you zee uz!," said Boris.

"I'm sure it won't! Perhaps you can show me your KAOS store!"

"Perhapz!"

Taking the box and still holding the guns, Max and 99 went back onto the main trail. When they lost sight of Boris and Natasha, they ran."

"My feet hurt!," said 99.

"I'll rub them, when we get back onto the boat, 99."

She smiled. "Thanks, Max!"

They made it back to the shore. Before leaving, they washed up a bit in the water. Then they put the box in a secure place on the powerboat, and left.
