When All Comes True
By: JacksTortugaLassHe hated this emptiness. This feeling that wasn't a feeling, but it attacked all that he thought and held dear. It made him replay all the past, all the screams, and all the pain. It made him feel as if he could do nothing. But he did do something. He did one thing.
He grinned.
But something happened with his grin, it was never true.
It was only true when the sun was there. And seeing as to how, technically, the sun wasn't around anymore, his grin was never true.
He would take her hand, her fingers finding the spaces in his, his fingers finding the spaces in hers and all would be right.
It sounded like that song from the human band … what were they called? The Beetles. But with an 'a'. Silly, apes. He snapped his fingers, "Here Comes the Sun", that was it.
That's what she did. She took the place of the sun, filling in the bits and pieces far in the back where he kept them from even himself and made him warm. She made him feel –
Realizing what he was thinking, he pulled a face. Such a human, such a pitiful creature emotion and here he was having feelings …
No, not feelings.
It was deeper than then that. It went beyond words and into the core of his feeling.
His grin slid back into place as he continued to set the coordinates on the TARDIS.
