Kankurou stood there, stiff as a board, a single phrase floating through his head in a mantra.

'Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit.'

It so happens; that he had been three quarters of the way through announcing his undying love about her to his ever-so-caring brother, that she had, as if on cue, walked through the door.

Kankurou had his arms up high, his face was flushed, and he had whipped around to see who had just entered, and she was standing there.

He could feel his goddamn brother's smirk.

DAMN YOU, GAARA.

He'd probably set this all up so she thought he, Kankurou, was a total jackass and would downright reject him! Oh, Gaara was going to die!

Kankurou's arms were still high, though they had drooped a little, his face was a darker red, and he was gaping openly at the girl in the doorway: the object of his affection.

She, in turn, stood there, her delicate hand still on the door-handle, her periwinkle eyes wide, and fixed on Kankurou himself.

Gaara, sitting behind his Kazekage desk, watched them both, his hand hovering over a mildly important document, not moving a muscle.

Finally, after what felt like hours of silence and stillness, she moved, as though she just figured out something, her eyes widening and a flush spreading over her pale cheeks like smooth silk, making Kankurou, in turn, go a darker red.

Her periwinkle eyes wandered downwards to her feet, Kankurou's arms falling to his sides, and, in two dainty steps, she stood infront of the brunette, placed a gentle kiss on the edge of Kankurou's mouth, and turned, her long hair tickling at his nose, before she disappeared out the door again.

The time froze, Kankurou staring, open-mouthed at the empty doorway. Gaara smirked and went back to writing. Everything went as he planned.

Kankurou's head slowly and shakily turned to Gaara, his mouth agape, all blood gone from his face.

The younger of the two siblings glanced up from his paperwork only to give his brother a smirk before looking back down.

Something clicked in Kankurou's brain, and, quite suddenly, Gaara felt himself being pulled into a noogie, with Kankurou's high-pitched squealing drilling into his ear.

A split second later Kankurou flew backwards out of the window with a fractured jaw and sand sticking to his skin.

Even so, the grin wasn't wiped off his face. She kissed him!!!

((END. A drabble I just thought up. I DON'T EVEN LIKE THIS PAIRING! Yes, this is a legitimate Naruto pairing. Which Konoha kunoichi has light blue eyes and long hair most of the time? Hmmmm? ANYWAY, This was not supposed to happen, but my fingers forced me. eh. It was fun to write.))
