Every
morning I watch you walk into the office
In your business suit
and matching shoes
With your hair put up neatly you tug at your
glasses
You greet me with a simple hello, just like everyone else. You look no different than any other day; your stern demeanor, hair pulled pack tight, and a gleam in your emerald eyes. You have always had the reputation of a strict, fair, independent woman who does not mess around when it comes to work. Everyone respects you, even I, Headmaster, have more respect for you than any other person.
And you sit down, just three
desks down
And I watch you in the fluorescent glare
And my
mind drifts away somewhere
You take your seat next to me and help yourself to breakfast. Today is another day of work. You have the first years first; not the perfect start of the day. You handle it with grace and nobility. You could be a Scottish queen my dear or you could just be mine. You talk to me about current affairs in the wizarding world and gossip with Pomona Sprout. Breakfast passes like every other day, and you never look at me any different. Not that you ever would...
And I see you in a
different light
With your hair falling down, with love in your
eyes
In my mind, you're a beautiful sight
I see you in a
different light
Just the way I saw you last night
But I look at you in a different light from what everyone else sees. I see your long, straight brown hair falling in your face and on your shoulders. You have a beauty that you keep hidden under your long cloaks and stern eyes. I can only guess why I am so lucky as to have you; I don not know what I would do with out you. I see a look in your eyes no one could ever see, but me. I taste your kiss on my lips, feel your skin against mine, and hear your whispers in my ear. Though people would never know, you can be a lover and a friend; a teacher and a woman.
Well there's girls at the office
the guys always notice
When they walk by, but you're not the type
Of all the witches teaching here at the school, you are never thought of in a way I think of you. My fellow wizards never give you a second glance or dream about holding you; you are not that type. You do not just give away your heart and beauty to anyone. Of course you are respected and held in highest esteem, but my dear they could never see what I do.
They don't
know what I know, how some things just don't show Let them all think
what they want to
Through
tailored tweats and that's fine with me
As for me when I look at you
Men look for appearance, while women look for heart. I must admit, I was like that at one point (every man was), but now I look to your heart, not how you appear on the outside. Not that you do not have incredible looks, but to any other man whom has never seen the complete you, he would look right past. When you want to, you can be seductive and entrancing but I believe I am the only man to be lucky enough to know you that way.
And I see you in a
different light
With your hair falling down, with love in your
eyes
In my mind, you're a beautiful sight
I see you in a
different light
Just the way I saw you last night
I will spend today answering important mail and thinking of you. You will teach your classes. We will see each other at lunch, again at dinner, and maybe, if we are lucky, in the halls. When you look at me a can see the spark of love in your normally piercing eyes. Then my love, late at night when everyone else is lost in dreams of tomorrow, I will hold you once again. Your hair falling down, with love in your eyes, and a kiss on your lips we will spend the night together like any two lovers would do. Oh, yes my Minerva, I see you in a different light.
A/N: I do not own any of JK Rowling's story. The only thing I own is the plot. The lyrics are from In A Different Light by Doug Stone. Thanks for reading!! And now you should review: )
