This is one of my GR headcanons that I really want to catch on. I think it's a really nice and sweet idea.
Creating Tradition
It was tradition for Noah to leave a can of grape soda on Rex's coffee table on April 23rd, the anniversary of the day they met.
The first time Noah did it, Rex didn't realized what the can meant and assumed Noah left it behind from the night before. He left it unopened and when Noah stopped by later on that day Rex tried to give it back.
Noah laughed and shook his head. "That's for you, moron. Don't you know what today is?"
"Saturday?"
"No. Well, yes, but that's not all. It's been one year." Noah sighed when Rex looked at him blankly. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me. Rex, we've been friends for one year. It's our friendship anniversary!"
"Do people normally celebrate that?" Rex asked, looking confused.
Noah blushed. "Well, no, but you're not normal are you? So it works!"
"So, today's our anniversary and you've given me a warm can of soda as a gift?"
"Okay, seriously dude. Don't make me hit you. Don't you remember where we first met?"
"At the park?"
Noah crossed his arms. "Is that a question or your answer?"
Rex childishly stuck out his tongue. "Answer."
"Good. And do you remember what you asked me?"
Rex looked up in thought as he tried to remember his first words to Noah. A smile broke out on his face and he tilted his head to look at Noah. Rex held up his hand and activated the nanites in it. "Wanna soda?"
The blond smiled back and gave him an encouraging nod. "There you go then." Noah said with pride. His enjoyment was short lived as Rex's face fell back into confusion.
"Don't you think giving me money for the soda would have been much better than an actual can of soda?" Rex laughed as Noah grabbed the aluminum can from him.
"No," Noah growled and purposefully shook the can and aimed the top at Rex before he opened it. Warm carbonated soda exploded from the can and rained down on the Hispanic EVO in its sugary goodness.
"Oh jeez, Noah was that necessary?"
"Yes, it's your punishment for not remembering, so better not forget it next year!" Noah warned and tossed Rex a towel.
"I doubt I'll be able to after the purple shower you've just given me."
"Mission accomplished then," Noah laughed.
"So, next year we'll celebrate again?"
"Yes, that's usually how it goes."
"Cool. Can we have cake instead?"
"Only if you're good," Noah warned.
"Well, then I guess I'll have to be on my best behavior."
"If you think you can."
"Oh, course I can, I usually don't because it's more fun," Rex replied with a wink.
Noah rolled his eyes and chose not to reply as he threw the soda can away.
Why can't I write the boys normally? I always seem to make them flirt in the end! *head desk*
