James Potter was shocked, to say the very least.

'Did you just suggest we go to the library, Sirius?' he asked his friend.

'Yeah,' the boy called Sirius confirmed. 'I mean, we need to do some research, don't we, before we start making wild accusations?' He paused for a moment, sweeping long, dark hair out of his eyes. 'Look, mate. If we want proof that Remus is really lying to us, we need to do research, don't we? And we're going to need to have the facts so we can help if - if he's a werewolf.'

Soon, the two second-years were seated in the library, a book entitled The Truth About Werewolves open in front of them. Madam Pince looked on from behind her desk. After all, she had never seen the two troublemakers come here of their own accord.

James frowned as he read a passage aloud. 'Sufferers of lycanthropy must undergo a most agonising transformation upon the rise of the full moon. Their human bones and organs must rearrange and reshape themselves so that they become that of a wolf's... That's awful. It must be why Remus comes back looking like he's been through hell.'

'Of course that's why! I'm sure you would look a bit pale if your insides had been scrambled!' Sirius cried, earning a glare from Madam Pince, still watching them like a hawk.

James put a hand on his friend's shoulder. 'The point is, Sirius, that Remus is without doubt a werewolf. It means he goes through hell and back every month. And obviously, he feels like he can't tell us. You know the prejudices werewolves hasuspiciously ve to face. Most people probably hate him as soon as they find out.

Sirius nodded. 'Yeah, the stupid idiots can't figure out that it only happens once a month, that they're actual people for the other twenty-nine days.'

James closed the book, standing up to replace it on the shelf behind him. 'We'll need to tell him that we know sooner or later. I'd prefer it was sooner, though.'

'How?' Sirius asked worriedly. 'We can't very well say, 'Oh, hi, Remus, we know that you're a werewolf. Would you like a Chocolate Frog?''

James rolled his eyes. 'Of course not. We'll need to do it gently. He probably thinks we'll hate him.'

'Maybe we should just go up and see him. Get it over with.'

'Yeah,' James agreed. 'It's probably best we don't go and get Peter, though. He'll probably end up putting his foot in it.'

With that, the two boys exited the library, making their way up to Gryffindor Tower. They could only hope that Remus would know that they accepted him for who he was, not what he was.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Harry Potter series or any of the characcters. Sadly, they all belong to JK Rowling.

A/N: Hello again, guys. Here's another Marauders fanfiction for you. I posted my other one (Perception and Reality) the other day and decided to do a sort of prequel to it. Thanks for reading - I hope you enjoyed it.

I really like the Marauders, Remus in particularly, so I thought it might be fun to write some fanfic focusing on them.

I am always looking to improve my writing, so reviews are always welcome. : )
