I own nothing.
Fairytale
"Are you sure about this?" River asked while the Doctor happily led her through a dense forest.
"Of course I am. It wouldn't be a date without a little adventure would it?" He asked. River held the Doctor's hand while he pulled her further into the thick brush of trees. It was a very pretty forest, the trees and grass were a vibrant green and there were little flowers poking out of the ground. There was a tinkling sound coming from up in the leaves, like little bells.
"Doctor, do you hear that?" River asked, turning her head about to the sound.
"Hear what?" He called back, he had let go of her hand and continued farther on the trail.
"Nothing," River waved off. But the sound persisted. Suddenly it sounded like it was right next to her ear. She quickly turned her head and heard a resounding giggle. The Doctor was too far ahead for it to have been him. She heard it again and this time stood very still. She felt a small brush against her shoulder and turned to see what looked like a sprite or pixie perched right on her shoulder.
The Doctor looked back to see his wife standing still as a rock, staring intently at her arm, which was an odd sight to say the least. He quickly made his way back to her to find her having a hushed conversation with a small little orb of light.
"River, what are you doing?" River lifted her hand to him and right on her finger sat a little fairy-like creature.
"Is that…what I think it is?" He asked.
"Yes, I believe so," River answered, still in awe at the small wonder sitting on her finger. "I thought they were only in fairytales," she admitted.
The fairy creature suddenly shot up with a sound of tinkling bells. Obviously this was one language the TARDIS could not translate. A moment later dozens more appeared. The Doctor and River sat in wonder while the sprites dusted River's hair with glitter and added flowers while River simply smiled. The Doctor was tempted to laugh at his wife with her glowing hair filled with flowers, but he was more in awe of how child-like and happy River seemed; a complete turn from her usual sassy and flirtatious self, which he adored just as much.
The Doctor took River's face in his hands and pressed his forehead against hers.
"I feel like I'm in a fairytale," she whispered.
"You and your mother," he laughed, and gently kissed her nose.
