Wrong

Dr. Madden knows it's wrong, but he does it anyway.

Diana keeps talking, unaware of the doctor moving closer and closer to her. It is not until they are centimeters apart does she notice how little distance there is between them. At first, she tries to ignore it. Maybe she's just talking too quietly for Dr. Madden to hear. But he doesn't move, just stares deeply into her eyes, slowly closing the gap between them.

Suddenly, Diana jumps up. "I'm sorry," she stutters. "I can't do this. I…it's making me feel uncomfortable. I mean, Dan's waiting outside."

Do you know how many times you've mentioned how much you wish you could get rid of him? Dr. Madden thinks, suddenly annoyed. "No, I'm sorry," he says. "I didn't realize…I'm sorry." He forces himself farther away from Diana, but she is already halfway out the door, leaving Dr. Madden alone.

He knew it was wrong, but he did it anyway. Why did he let himself act so irresponsibly?

Because he needed Diana to know how he felt about her.
